Trump Vs. Putin: Limousine Wars
The world of presidential limousines is just fascinating, with just a select few companies commissioned to create bespoke vehicles for some of the globe’s most powerful political figures.
General Motors, the manufacturer behind the Trump Limousine, is now testing his new stretched Cadillac on US roads, with snaps of the camouflage-covered vehicle emerging in recent weeks. This has however been a long time coming with Donald Trump expecting his presidential limousine when he came into power last year. But, has it been worth the wait? Well, according to General Motors; absolutely. Boasting a range of impressive features fit for the most powerful man in the world, the car is said to have been created with style and security in mind. Promising to drop this summer, the Cadillac-branded state car has been handed over by the Secret Service, maybe just weeks away from being parked at the White House.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Secret Service added confirmed:
“the program to build and deploy the next generation of Presidential limousines is on track and on schedule — both in terms of vendor production and internal Secret Service post production requirements. The public can expect to see the new vehicles put into operational use late summer of this year.”
Whilst undoubtedly excited to be presented with his first limousine, Trump is reportedly miffed at the fact that President Putin will receive his limousine before Trump, maybe even by the end of this month! Plus, when it comes to Putin’s car, no expense is being spared, said to be built with a V12 or V8 engine and in partnership with Porsche. Now adding the finishing touches to the car, Russia’s Industry and Trade Minister, Denis Manturov reports:
“The cars for trial will be delivered on time before the end of April. I hope [the president] will start using this vehicle very soon”.
With Obama’s ‘Beast’ car coming with everything from replacement blood for the President to an armoured fuel tank, we can only envisage what Trump and Putin’s cars will look like. Let us know your predictions by leaving your comments below.
