Your prom day is meant to be one of the most important days of your life, taking months to prepare and get excited for. From hiring professional make-up artists to investing in the most extravagant gowns and limos, for girls, proms are approached much like weddings.
But, for one Doncaster prom Queen, the fun ended at the preparation stages, being left humiliated after a bully threw a jug of juice all over her and her beautiful prom dress.
Emilee Perry, who already suffered from anxiety, needed to be collected from prom just two hours after being dropped off. Devastated by the incident, her mother, Tracy, took to social media, posting the following:
“This is my beautiful daughter, who suffers with anxiety, whom we had to beg to go to the prom this evening.
“Two hours later I collect her from the prom like this, heartbroken and in a state.
“This ‘person’ thought it a good idea to pour a full jug of juice over her and soak her from head to toe.
“I hope one day someone humiliates and devastates her like she has done to my daughter.”
Also sharing pictures of her stunning daughter before and after the incident, the story seemed to strike a chord with people across the globe. Sharing messages of support, this rather sad prom story turned into a bit of a morale teaching, with parents and children showing support and opening up discussion around bullying in general.
“The way that people have responded has absolutely overwhelmed me and has proven to me that I can get through everything and it hope that this makes me a stronger person” Emilee wrote.
While everyone wanted to know who the person responsible was, Emilee refrained from sharing the fellow student’s name, wanting to avoid “spreading more hate”.
