Posh doesn’t get spicier than this! According to latest reports, the Spice Girls have called upon Hollywood star Angelina Jolie to portray the character of Victoria ‘Posh’ Beckham should a biopic be ever made chronicling the hey-days of the group.

As the once-famous girl band waits for their musical to hit the stages, they are already mulling about stars to glamorise them on the silver screen should their show be made into a movie. ‘Viva Forever’ was launched yesterday, marking the first public appearance together for the fivesome as a group since 2008. It is expected that the musical will hit stages at the end of this year.

According to British newspaper Metro, Mel ‘Scary Spice’ B said voted Avatar beauty Zoe Saldana to play her in a cinematic version. Mel ‘Sporty Spice’ C chose iconic ‘Friends’ star Courteney Cox while Geri Halliwell also known as Ginger Spice wanted to be glamorised onscreen by Cameron Diaz. Emma ‘Baby Spice’ Bunton was reportedly quite excited when the rest suggested that Kate Hudson play her in a movie. However, when the group chose Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie to depict Posh Spice, Mrs Beckham reportedly yelped: “I didn’t say mine!”

‘Viva Forever’ has been produced by Judy Craymer of ‘Mama Mia!’ fame and it is no wonder then that the Spice Girls have their eyes set on a movie musical for themselves such as ‘Rock of Ages’ and of course, ‘Mama Mia!’.

It’s left to be seen if the Spice Girls are immortalised on film anytime soon. However, one can only hope that ‘Viva Forever’ is a better take on the girls’ lives than the lamentable 1998 film ‘Spice World’.
