Every week we hear news of a different car manufacturers launching an electric car product. From VW and Audi to Land Rover and Suzuki, they are all at it!
However, it appears that Rolls Royce, the brand renowned for its fuel-guzzling chauffeur cars, are no following the herd.
According to the British carmakers, they are in no rush to launch eco version of their monster cars, with the Phantom, Ghost and Cullinan all staying as they are for now.
This does however slightly contradict the firm’s previous comments about rolling out electric variations of their fleet.
Leaping at their own defence, Rolls Royce simply believes that the technology just isn’t right yet, not wanting to rush the process, get it wrong and harm their impeccable brand reputation they have built over decades.
Rolls Royce CEO, Mr. Torsten Otvos-Muller, confirmed: “We are on it. We need to make smart decisions on where we invest our money. It may be OK for bigger companies to go into hybrids and all sorts of different technologies, [but] we needed to make a certain decision.”
Let us know what you think. Should all cars be modified to be electric or are vehicles such as the Rolls Royce Phantom allowed to retain their traditional values?
