Prince Harry and Meghan Markle choose Electric Jaguar as their wedding car

by Abi Townsend20/05/2018 in All News, Celebrity Watch, Chauffeur News, Transport News, Wedding News,

Unless you have been under a rock for the last 6 months, you will know that a rather lavish wedding took place on the weekend. Seeing Prince Harry tie the knot with American actress, Meghan Markle, the celebration did not disappoint when it came to extravagance. From guests such as Oprah Winfrey and the Beckhams to the £30m budget, the world stopped and stared as the young couple joined in matrimony.

While many were fixated on Meghan’s dress, shoes and tiara, we at Limo Broker waited patiently to see what the royals had in store for us when it came to transportation. Again, the couple did not fail us, exiting the star-studded event in an Jaguar E Type Concept Zero. Defying royal wedding car convention, many expected Harry to keep up with tradition and enjoy a ride in a petrol-guzzling Rolls Royce; but, did they make the right decision?

Well, many have commended the newlyweds for their car choice. With the car being electric, the couple communicate the message that they are environmentally—friendly, flying the flag for electric cars during one of the most-watched programmes of all time. However, unlike many eco-cars, this vehicle does not compromise when it comes to style.

A remake of ‘the most beautiful car in the world’

As a car that Enzo Ferrari describes as ‘the most beautiful car in the world’, this particular E-Type is a remake of the 1968 classic, staying true to its iconic look during the modernisation process.

Tim Hannig, Director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic, said the following at the launch of the eco version in 2017.

“E-type Zero combines the renowned E-type dynamic experience with enhanced performance through electrification. This unique combination creates a breathtaking driving sensation.

“Our aim with E-type Zero is to future-proof classic car ownership. We’re looking forward to the reaction of our clients as we investigate bringing this concept to market.”

With the ability to get from 0-62 mph in and admirable 5.5 seconds, the car not only looks like the original but it performs like it also.

So, what do you think; does the royal wedding car deserve its price tag of £350,000? Leave your thoughts with us.
