Toy-making giants, Lego, have launched the latest model in its Technic range with the release of their realistic-looking Bugatti Chiron.
Bugatti’s latest hypercar, the Chiron, remains one of the most sought-after cars in the world but with only 500 models being produced and a hefty price tag of £2.5 million, owning one is a mere pipedream for most of us. Lego’s latest release will be equally popular amongst adults and children as car fans clamour to get hold of this true-to-life replica.
Built at a scale of 1:8 and measuring nearly 2 feet in length, engineers at Lego have worked tirelessly alongside Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S to ensure that the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron is worth every penny of the £329.99 it will cost.
The model’s 3,600 pieces include the Chiron’s iconic wind tunnel-honed bodywork and awe-inspiring W16 engine complete with moving pistons. Lego’s new Bugatti model also features a movable paddle-shift gear box, spoked alloy wheels and an active rear wing; what more could you ask for?
Like its real life equivalent, the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron features a ‘speed key’ enabling owners to switch the rear wing’s position from its handling to top speed settings.
With a great eye for detail the Lego cockpit comes complete with a working gearshift and steering wheel that both adorn the iconic Bugatti logo. Each model also carries a scaled-down version of Bugatti’s signature overnight bag in the boot and features a unique serial number.
The Bugatti Chiron is undoubtedly one of the greatest supercars ever produced and becomes the second in Lego Technic’s supercar line. Will it prove as popular as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS released last year? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
