Though best known for being the Baywatch babe that he is, David Hasselhoff is just as well known for his role as Michael Knight in Knight Rider; the 80s TV show.
While having a great narrative about fighting for justice, for us, the stand-out part of the show was Hoff’s sidekick, his car.
Built by David’s character, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) was a futuristic Pontiac Trans-Am that was capable of speeds as high as 300mph. And, it wasn’t just its speed that was impressive about it. The car was also bulletproof, fireproof, could communicate with its owner and generally supported Michael Knight in fighting the baddies.
This week, David Hasselhoff was reunited with the famous motor during an appearance on GMA. Thrilled to see KITT again, his reaction was priceless, circling the unique car with a rather funny, cheesy grin.
Wearing his iconic black leather jacket and sporting well-gelled hair, Hoff could be seen holding up a number plate that said ‘Knight’, no doubt bringing back nostalgic memories for him and the TV buffs amongst us.
But, why has KITT re-emerged now? Well, The Hoff is currently waiting to feature in the Battle of the 80’s Supercars special, believing KITT to have had a huge bearing on the overall TV and film industry.
