Lewis Hamilton’s £165,000 limo up for sale on Auto Trader

Whilst we tend to use Auto Trader for our ‘middle of the road’ cars, the car sales website has listed something rather spectacular this week; Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes-Benz S600 Maybach Limo. Though said to be bought for a whopping £165,000, the car is currently being promoted for £104,000, a real bargain when considering the car’s celebrity association.

No ordinary S-Class

But, this is no ordinary S-Class, with the racing champion having enjoyed a range of optional extras. From adorning some impressive 22” alloy wheels to its sleek panoramic glass sunroof, it is safe to say that the car looks the part.

In addition to exterior upgrades, the car also enjoys the benefits of a rear seat entertainment package and a top-of-the-range Burmester audio system; making the car fit for any car enthusiast. The new owner can also use the car to unwind and relax, with its cabin fitted with massage chairs, self-closing doors and privacy blinds. But, this car is not all about gismos and gadget. Under the bonnet you will find a rather boisterous 6-litre, biturbo V12 engine; one that can achieve 520bhp and get from 0 to 600mph in a mild 5 seconds.

A warm welcome from Auto Trader

Thrilled to have such a high-profile car with such a wonderful backstory in their catalogue, Auto Trader were eager to list the Maybach. Talking following the car going live on their site, Erin Baker of Auto Trader said:

“This is a seriously luxurious car. The standard S-Class is one of the swankiest cars that Mercedes makes, and this Maybach edition is even more high-end, featuring ultimate comfort mixed with cutting-edge technology.”

“As a Mercedes F1 driver and a four-time world champion, it’s no surprise that Lewis wanted the best of the best. Mercedes must have offered him something pretty special to replace this one. Maybe it’s the new Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar.”

Let us know what you think; is Hamilton’s ride worth the £104,000 being asked of it?

The world’s first electric limo is in the making

With Tesla auctioning their plans for world transport domination their focuses now lay in the limousine category, with Big Limos keeping customers enticed through their Tesla limo stretch project. Understanding the direction the limo hire industry is travelling towards the company want to be the first to introduce an electric limo to the scene, recognising that electric vehicles are going to be a commonplace in new age travel.

The Tesla Model S has been chopped in half with metal sheets joining the front and back together again, giving way to a roomy inside that is expected to seat 8+ passengers. Planned to be positioned comfortably next to models such as the Lincoln Towncar Limousine and the Baby Bentley, could the Tesla be a prominent part of birthday parties, hens, weddings and sporting events throughout the country?

Maintaining functionality

According to the builders they have managed to maintain functionality, something that many stretches fail to do. This includes the touchscreen in the dashboard, something that was expected to be a huge obstacle for the convertors. The screen originally showed the outside rendering of the Model S, set to be replaced by an image of a limousine once the stretch is completed.

CEO of Big Limos, Mike Walstrom, says ‘the electric technology engineering on the Model S was a challenge to get right on the conversion’.

Still awaiting Tesla approval the company do not seem too bothered about that aspect, wanting to look into a partnership further down the line. With an asking price of $100,000-200,000, depending of options, the firm are taking orders, boasting the possibility of gullwing doors on their next project.

Simon Brodkin Uses Limo Broker Phantom for Transfer Deadline Sky Sports Stunt

If you didn’t already know yesterday was transfer deadline day, the most important day on the sporting calendar.

With the world fixated on Sky Sports News there was a universal anticipation to see what club Jermain Defoe was set to transfer to.

With Arsenal and QPR battling for the Tottenham striker emotions were high for fans, engrossed by their television, tablets and iPhones, awaiting the official verdict.

This tenseness was greatly undercut when Simon Brodkin AKA Lee Nelson AKA Jason Bent filled our screens, posing as a footballer and claiming to be Jermain Defoe.

After stating to be Defoe he then continued his performance, getting into character.

The comedian evolved into his outspoken footballer creation Jason Bent, claiming to have been signed for Queens Park Rangers and was set to “play in the Premiership this season and in the Championship next season”.

Simon Brodkin camera-bombed a Sky reporter at Loftus Road, pretending to be bringing the nation the latest news on football transfers.

With the Sky Sports reporter not entertaining Simon’s act we at home only enjoyed his display of football madness even more, enthralling in the excitement of transfer deadline day.

With a collection of football shirts Jason Brent then tried to convince the public that he had been signed for Arsenal as well as QPR, going to great efforts by having his act’s surname ‘Bent’ embellished on the back of them.

So, how did he manage to get all this airtime?

Arriving in a spectacular white Limo Broker Rolls Royce Phantom, the crowds were convinced that they were witnessing the arrival of a football megastar.

With glamour model Casey Bachelor draped on his arm Simon was very convincing, suggesting he had bagged himself his very own Wag.

Simon also hit headlines back in June when he tried to join the England World Cup football squad on a flight to Miami, suited and booted in the club’s kit.

Where most of the nation got the joke many thought he had all the gear but no idea, letting a lot of his jokes simply go over their heads.

We at Limo Broker think that Simon Brodkin is not only hilarious but also pretty ballsy, admiring his persistence in trying to bring laughter to the football fanatics of the UK.
