Prince Harry and Meghan Markle choose Electric Jaguar as their wedding car

Unless you have been under a rock for the last 6 months, you will know that a rather lavish wedding took place on the weekend. Seeing Prince Harry tie the knot with American actress, Meghan Markle, the celebration did not disappoint when it came to extravagance. From guests such as Oprah Winfrey and the Beckhams to the £30m budget, the world stopped and stared as the young couple joined in matrimony.

While many were fixated on Meghan’s dress, shoes and tiara, we at Limo Broker waited patiently to see what the royals had in store for us when it came to transportation. Again, the couple did not fail us, exiting the star-studded event in an Jaguar E Type Concept Zero. Defying royal wedding car convention, many expected Harry to keep up with tradition and enjoy a ride in a petrol-guzzling Rolls Royce; but, did they make the right decision?

Well, many have commended the newlyweds for their car choice. With the car being electric, the couple communicate the message that they are environmentally—friendly, flying the flag for electric cars during one of the most-watched programmes of all time. However, unlike many eco-cars, this vehicle does not compromise when it comes to style.

A remake of ‘the most beautiful car in the world’

As a car that Enzo Ferrari describes as ‘the most beautiful car in the world’, this particular E-Type is a remake of the 1968 classic, staying true to its iconic look during the modernisation process.

Tim Hannig, Director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic, said the following at the launch of the eco version in 2017.

“E-type Zero combines the renowned E-type dynamic experience with enhanced performance through electrification. This unique combination creates a breathtaking driving sensation.

“Our aim with E-type Zero is to future-proof classic car ownership. We’re looking forward to the reaction of our clients as we investigate bringing this concept to market.”

With the ability to get from 0-62 mph in and admirable 5.5 seconds, the car not only looks like the original but it performs like it also.

So, what do you think; does the royal wedding car deserve its price tag of £350,000? Leave your thoughts with us.

Rolls Royce to be all-electric by 2040

Renowned for their large engines and iconic roar, the Rolls Royce brand has over the years become synonymous with power, having released some petrol-guzzling creations in their time. However, it appears we are seeing a shift in focus for the British manufacturers, this week announcing their plans to be ‘all-electric’ by 2040. So, are we saying goodbye to the Rolls Royce style we have begun to love? Well, by ditching the internal combustion engine commonly used in luxury cars, we are certainly in for a few changes.

Following suit

Though a big move, many are saying that Rolls Royce are simply following in the footsteps of other brands such as BMW and Volvo, entering the modern world of vehicle manufacturing. Giving kudos to Britain and France for their efforts to travel in a more environmentally friendly manner, Torsten Müller-Ӧtvӧs, Chief Executive of Rolls Royce, says that the Middle East will be the next to employ such a vision.

“When you see what happens in Saudi, when you see what happens in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, they are all looking into alternative energy. Electrification will also happen in these countries, sooner or later” he said.

However, with the UK government banning the production of non-electric cars in 2040, is Rolls Royce’s decision based on legalities as opposed to environmental concerns?

Though 2040 is the cutoff point, Rolls Royce will slowly begin to phase out 12-cylinder petrol engines in its cars, expected to introduce the first model in the next ten years.

“We will definitely offer 12-cylinder engines as long as we can, as long as it is legally allowed to offer them” Müller-Ӧtvӧs continued.

Let us know what you think about this, will the Rolls Royce brand as we know and love it be no more?

Rolls Royce Cullinan makes its debut

As you know, here at Limo Broker, we have a mild obsession with the Rolls Royce brand; a car manufacturer that places luxuriousness as a priority. Mirroring their passion for exquisite cars, we were thrilled to hear the latest news from Rolls Royce. According to sources, the Rolls Royce Cullinan has officially launched! Receiving rave reviews for both its cabin and exterior design, we take a closer look at what the British carmakers have achieved with their latest creation. Targeted at the “younger, very successful high-net-worth individuals who are heavily engaged in the experience economy”, we were not disappointed!

Rolls Royce’ first SUV

Having been working on the Cullinan for over three years, this car has been much-anticipated, being the first SUV the company has created. While a new direction for Rolls Royce, many say the car follows in the footsteps of the glorious Rolls Royce Phantom. From its large grille to its high hood and clean lines; are we witnessing the rebirth of the Phantom? Well, according to many car critics, absolutely.

Exterior

When it comes to the view from the outside, Rolls Royce has ticked every box, extending that tone of opulence to a hatchback. Whilst compact and neat, the car somehow still boasts a strong, iconic presence when out on the road. Fully equipped with the raised Spirit of Ecstasy, this car is quintessentially British.

The cabin

Climb inside this tremendous car and you unlock a whole world of gizmos and gadgets, with the Cullinan showcasing a cabin fit for royalty. From its bench-style seating to its in-cabin bar with stunning whiskey glasses, Rolls Royce have thought of everything.

Another feature critics are eager to put under the spotlight is the infotainment system; a top-of-the-range piece of kit that can be controlled by the SoE badge on the steering wheel.

Hire a Rolls Royce

While we are yet to get our hands on the Cullinan, we do enjoy a vast fleet of Rolls Royce cars available for hire. If you are a lover of luxury cars, be sure to browse our vehicle catalogue.

Kim Jong Un’s limousine branded a ‘portable-potty’

It’s been a huge week for high-profile limousines, with many details emerging over what both Donald Trump and Vladmir Putin can expect from their new rides. Now, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un joins the race, unveiling his spectacular limousine. Surrounded by 12 bodyguards (on foot), the limousine was rather hard to miss!

Basic requests

Whilst Trump is renowned for his lavish tastes (once sporting a gold limousine), it appears that Jong Un’s requests are far more basic; an in-cabin toilet.

“There are multiple vehicles within the convoy so that people cannot tell which one he is in, and there is a separate car that acts as his restroom” a source confirms.

Apparently, the leader requires a secret restroom everywhere he goes. Though a bit of an unusual feature, when you apply some logic, it makes sense. Being a busy individual that travels a great deal, having a toilet to hand is a good idea. But, did you know that he requests his own toilet no matter how he travels? This goes for air travel as well as trains and limos.

But, is there something more to this? Well, according to many, the president having his own toilet in his limo is about control, knowing exactly where the toilet’s contents is going and, in whose hands (pardon the imagery). Some believe that the toilet is to stop foreign intelligence operatives from gaining access to his excrement, not being able to determine the state of his health.

“If true, it really speaks to the paranoia of the North Korean regime,” Bongino, a Former U.S. Secret Service agent says.

Where a great deal of focus has been placed on the potty, we at Limo Broker cannot deny the good looks of the car. Opting for another sleek, black Mercedes-Benz, the car is stunning and surprisingly understated for such a powerful man.

Would you hire a limo to take your baby home from hospital?

According to Baby Centre there is a new baby craze sweeping America, seeing mums and dads hire stretched limos to take their babies home from the hospital. Thought to be one of the most memorable occasions of your lifetime we at Limo Broker can understand why the limo firms of the country are offering such packages, something that is being heavily promoted across the country.

One chauffeur service, White Diamond Limousine, recently posted the following advert:

“Your new baby brings an excitement like few things in your life. Amid all the stress and exhaustion, why not let White Diamond Limousine help you celebrate one of the most blessed events in your life by providing a luxurious and safe ride home from the hospital. Looking for a unique gift for the new parents? What could be better than bringing the new, happy family home in style and comfort?”

Focusing on the stress of getting the baby back to the family home there is certainly room in the market for this, adding a bit of glamour and celebration to what is traditionally a very private occasion.

Advantages of limo hire

Being slightly persuaded by the American industry’s passion we have been talked round, with the following advantages being the reason why:

•Both parents can focus on the baby rather than the road

•Limos are spacious enough to fit all of the bags, holders and other luggage in

•Hiring a limo marks the moment with a celebratory journey

•It’s cheap way of passing the responsibility of driving to someone else

•A limo provides enough space for other family members to share the moment with the parents.

Whilst regarded as one of the most magical experiences is this a little excessive or a tremendous idea worth adopting here in the UK? Leave your thoughts with us.
