A limousine hire company from Blackpool received its TV debut last night after the first episode of a new documentary following the transport company aired on Channel 4.
The brand new show, Out on a Limo, centres on Jet Set Limousines based in Lytham near Blackpool. Last night’s episode which aired at 10pm followed the limo hire operator as they chauffeured a group of beauty queen contestants all vying to be win the title of Miss Blackpool, and also an 11-year-old attending a primary school prom.
Filming for the reality TV show began a year ago in February 2011, with the Channel 4 film crew shadowing the Blackpool based company over the course of several months, filming the company employees, chauffeurs and customers as they go about their daily business.
The TV show is produced by the same company that created Big Fat Gypsy Weddings which proved to be a big hit with the viewers. While the new limo programme has less of the shock-factor compared to the Gypsy Weddings show, the owners of Jet Set Limousines hope the documentary will be just as popular with viewers.
Channel 4 reportedly scoured the country in search of a limo company to star in their new show. When they encountered the Blackpool based firm, the show bosses were adamant they’d found the right company and mix of characters to focus the programme around.
Out on a Limo starring Jet Set Limousines aired last night on Channel 4 but viewers can see the show again on 4 OD.
