Limo Hire Company gets its TV debut on Channel 4 Show

A limousine hire company from Blackpool received its TV debut last night after the first episode of a new documentary following the transport company aired on Channel 4.

The brand new show, Out on a Limo, centres on Jet Set Limousines based in Lytham near Blackpool. Last night’s episode which aired at 10pm followed the limo hire operator as they chauffeured a group of beauty queen contestants all vying to be win the title of Miss Blackpool, and also an 11-year-old attending a primary school prom.

Filming for the reality TV show began a year ago in February 2011, with the Channel 4 film crew shadowing the Blackpool based company over the course of several months, filming the company employees, chauffeurs and customers as they go about their daily business.

The TV show is produced by the same company that created Big Fat Gypsy Weddings which proved to be a big hit with the viewers. While the new limo programme has less of the shock-factor compared to the Gypsy Weddings show, the owners of Jet Set Limousines hope the documentary will be just as popular with viewers.

Channel 4 reportedly scoured the country in search of a limo company to star in their new show. When they encountered the Blackpool based firm, the show bosses were adamant they’d found the right company and mix of characters to focus the programme around.

Out on a Limo starring Jet Set Limousines aired last night on Channel 4 but viewers can see the show again on 4 OD.

Justin Bieber presented with a $100k eco sports car for his 18th

US pop star Justin Bieber celebrated his 18th birthday in true celebrity style after being presented with a $100,000 luxury sports car on an American chat show this week.

The generous gift came from the teenager’s manager, Scooter Braun, who made a surprise appearance on the popular Ellen Degeneres Show to present the singer with his very special birthday gift. Justin certainly looked surprised when his long-term manager appeared on stage to hand over the impressive car to the youngster to mark his milestone birthday.

However the sports car isn’t your typical gas-guzzling model, instead the 2012 Fisker Karma boasts a solar panelled roof and hybrid engine making it one of the most eco-friendly sports cars available. Despite its green credentials, the Fisker Karma more than lives up to its supercar status as the luxury ride boasts a 2-litre 4 hybrid engine which produces a top speed of 125mph and a 0-60mph acceleration speed of less than 6 seconds.

While the quirky sports car maybe better for the environment than your average supercar, the Fisker Karma doesn’t scrimp on luxury details with diamond dust paintwork, keyless entry systems and a stunning solar glass roof.

The Fisker Karma sports car is a hit with the environmentally friendly celebrities as Hollywood actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Ashton Kutcher are both believed to be the proud owners of these hybrid luxury cars.

Cher Lloyd gets stick from Cheryl Cole on Twitter

Cher Lloyd appears to have been on the receiving end of a harsh tweet from her former mentor, Cheryl Cole this week, after the teenage singer made some unfavourable comments about the Girls Aloud star in a recent radio interview.

The Swagger Jagger singer was asked in the interview for Real Radio North West whether she’d consider performing with Cole in the future, to which Cher replied, only if the Promise This singer would sing live, implying in her next answer that Cheryl Cole uses autotune during her performances. In a separate dig, the teen remarked that she has more chance of winning the lottery than catching up with the X Factor judge who championed her on the ITV show.

The news of Cher’s scathing comments obviously got back to Cheryl Cole who took to her Twitter account to post this message, which is likely to be aimed at the girl many dubbed her protégé, “Be careful who you kick on your way up…they kick twice as hard on your way down #unappreciationisugly.” While Cheryl didn’t explicitly state the tweet was aimed at Cher, many are drawing that conclusion in the light of the X Factor runner up’s recent remarks.

According to 18-year-old Cher Lloyd, not winning the 2010 X Factor and instead coming in fourth place was the best outcome for her as it means she has more control over her music. Matt Cardle eventually went on to become the eventual winner of the 2010 series.

Letitia Dean set for Eastenders return in 2012

Letitia Dean is set to return to Eastenders after a 6 year hiatus. The 44-year-old actress will reprise her role as Sharon Watts in the popular BBC 1 soap, marking the third time the actress has returned to the show.

The last time Letitia Dean was on our screens as Sharon Watts was back in 2006 when she departed the show as a widow after her husband, Dennis Rickman, was stabbed on New Year’s Eve and died in Sharon’s arms in a dramatic storyline climax typical of Eastenders.

As yet, the reason for Sharon’s return to Walford is being kept tightly under wraps, although it’s understood Dean has signed up for 12 months on the show, however Eastenders bosses are said to be keen to keep the actress for longer as Sharon is very popular with viewers.

Sharon’s affair with Phil Mitchell while married to his brother Grant on the show attracted one of the soap’s biggest ever ratings pulling in 18 million viewers with the dramatic storyline.

In an official statement, actress Letitia Dean said she was looking forward to working with the Eastenders crew and former colleagues again, adding that the show will always be “close to my heart”, and she is excited about what the future holds for her character, Sharon Watts.

Since leaving Eastenders in 2006, Letitia Dean appeared as a contestant on the 2007 series of Strictly Come Dancing, and also performed in a touring production of Calendar Girls.

Sharon Watts will return to Eastenders later in the year.

Amy Child’s reality show rumoured to be axed

There was some bad news for the former The Only Way is Essex star, Amy Childs, today as reports have surfaced suggesting that the red head’s reality TV show on Channel 5, It’s All About Amy, is to be axed after just one series.

The fly-on-the-wall documentary which followed the former salon owner as she went about her daily life, promoting herself in TV interviews, carrying out photo shoots and also doing everyday chores such as having her nails done and training her dogs, failed to capture the audience the TV bosses anticipated. The channel is reportedly blaming a lack of engaging content on the reality show’s disappointing viewing figures.

It’s All About Amy was commissioned by Channel 5 after the glamour model appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother which also aired on the same channel. However the first episode of the reality TV series which debuted in December only managed to draw an audience of 506,000 viewers with that figure slumping to just 300,000 for later episodes.

Despite the rumours that ex TOWIE’s star’s show will face the chop and not return for a second series, Amy Childs’s management insist the model and beautician is discussing other opportunities with Channel 5 and she’s in talks to star in an exciting project this summer. The glamour model has been linked to the new series of The Bachelorette, although there’s yet to be confirmation on whether this is the project her team were hinting at.
