Just last week, an ‘artwork’ Rolls Royce Phantom was sold for £888k at a private event at Goodwood, with bidders competing for the unique Roller.
Now, it is Bentley’s turn to share a wonderfully unique car with us, unveiling a one-off ‘art car’.
Created by famous Icelandic artist, Katrin Fridriks, the art adorned Continental GT W12 is an extension of Fridriks’ show, ‘Speed of Light – Commander’.
Mainly black, the car sports grey swirls that equips it “with a sense of speed and motion, even at rest”.
So, as well as working at the speed of light under the bonnet, the car also embodies the speed of light visually.
“I’m so excited about working in partnership with Jack Barclay Bentley to create this unique, automotive artwork.
“It’s the perfect marriage of the cornerstones of my art – capturing speed and energy, design, craftsmanship, precision and a strive for excellence.”
Due to popular demand, Bentley will make one of these cars available to purchase, with the trim specified by the customer. According to Bentley, prices will start from a much higher point than your standard W12. But, the car will be signed by the artist, making it a rather unique collectors piece that could potentially increase in value over time.
