When Vladimir Putin unveiled his rather unique car at his 2018 inauguration, the whole world took notice, wanting to know as much as possible about the new state-owned car brand; Aurus.
Commissioned to build the car from scratch especially for the Russian president, this one-of-a-kind vehicle brand became very popular, with many drivers across the world wanting to travel like Putin and own the ‘Senat model’.
Now, the brand has given in, taking orders for a civilian version of Vladimir Putin’s limousine.
At present, there is only one Aurus showroom which is located in Moscow. There, a shorter version of the President’s Senat limo is on display.
Prices are said to start from $274,000 which is a pretty sizable sum when comparing it to other chauffeur cars available in the country.
But, this is not worrying the brand whatsoever, believing the cars to fly off the shelves when they officially start taking orders in 2020.
“We believe the audience will be quite wide” the company’s CEO, Adil Shirinov, confirms.
In order to prepare for this new sales push, the company are planning to open up additional showrooms in China. They also expect to receive orders from all over Europe as well as the Middle East.
What do you think? Can Aurus really compete with the likes of Rolls Royce, Bentley and BMW?
