X-Factor runners up JLS Set To Scoop Number One Hit

jls3Despite losing out on the winner’s title to Alexandra Burke on the last series of X-Factor, JLS are tipped to top the charts this Sunday and clinch their first number one single. The midweek sales figures of their debut single Beat Again shows the boys are outselling their closest contender, Cascada, twice over by shifting an astonishing 40,000 copies.

JLS (short for Jack The Lad Swing) signed to Epic Records following their success on the hit ITV show. A fellow talent show runner up, Lemar, championed the band who he then invited to support him on his tour earlier this year. Lemar said he was “really impressed with JLS’s performances on The X Factor” and was “thrilled” when they agreed to join him on tour.

The popularity of JLS has never been in question, with adoring teenage girls flocking to catch their live performances and creating fan sites dedicated to the band, they’ve developed a very significant fan base. The group further benefitted from the mentor skills of Louis Walsh whilst on the X Factor who managed the hugely successful 90’s boy band, Boyzone.

The profile of JLS is set to receive another significant boost in coming weeks with appearances scheduled at T4 On The Beach and the Midlands Music Festival.
