Vinnie Jones lived up to his hardman credentials this weekend after it emerged that the 45-year-old got into a punch up with fellow actor Tamer Hussan outside a swanky Hollywood hotel.

Hussan, a former boxer, is due to star opposite Vinnie in a movie which is scheduled to start filming next week. The actor has also starred in a number of hit films including The Football Factory, The Clash of The Titans, and recent Brit-flick release, Kick-Ass.

Several different accounts of the incident have emerged. According to a spokesperson for Vinnie, the former footballer had gone over to Hussan’s table to make amends after the pair had a disagreement over New Year. According to reports, 42-year-old Hussan refused to shake the Celebrity Big Brother contestant’s hand and became verbally abusive. It was at this point that the two actors stepped outside the hotel to resolve their issues.

Once outside the pair came to blows with Vinnie’s spokesperson claiming Hussan head-butted him, leaving Vinnie with bruising to his face. London born-actor Hussan was said to have sustained a cut below his eye following the scuffle. Security were called to break up the fight after which Hussan and his group left the establishment, while Vinnie returned to his table.

Hussan’s lawyer describes him as being the victim of an “unprovoked attack” adding that his client “regrets being put in the position of having to defend himself, but defend himself he did.”

According to a source from the Jones camp, Vinnie has decided not to press charges.

The race is now on to see who will be crowned the winner of the last ever Celebrity Big Brother with the final due to take place tonight.

Despite entering the house as the favourite to win, hardman Vinnie Jones has slipped down to third place in the bookies’ ranking after his overbearing behaviour on show saw some viewers turn their back on him.

In an unexpected turn of events Katie Price’s on/off boyfriend, cage fighter Alex Reid has positively blossomed in the house. Before appearing on the show, Reid was unpopular with the public and was badly booed whilst entering the house. However within the space of just three weeks, he seems to have turned public opinion around and is now the odds-on favourite to win.

Another former squeeze of Katie Price, singer Dane Bowers, is firmly in the running to walk away with the winner’s title. Bowers is currently second in line, according to the bookies, to win the last ever series of CBB.

Actress Stephanie Beacham is ranked outsider to win, and the most likely to face the chop first tonight. However there has been speculation that she could follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner, Ulrika Johnson, and scoop a late win. Ranking fourth in line for the title is singer/songwriter and record producer Basshunter, real name, Jonas.

The voting lines are still open so to get your favourite to win, don’t forget to pick up the phone.

Bosses on Big Brother are reportedly very concerned that their star contestant could walk from the show after complaining about a lack of sleep. On Wednesday night, the footballer-turned actor only managed to get 4 hours worth of shut eye and is said to be “irritable” as a result.

Despite only being in the house a matter of days, the 45-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, has already confessed in the diary room that the idea of leaving the show is very appealing. He’s also joked that he could leave the programme and go and visit his two elderly grandmothers who live a stone’s throw from the BB house in Hertfordshire.

Talking to fellow contestants, Vinnie admitted he didn’t think he could “go the distance” and last the full three weeks inside the BB house.

A tabloid newspaper reported this week that the hardman had signed a lucrative £350,000 contract to appear on the show, should he walk as opposed to getting voted out, this fee could well be in jeopardy.

If Vinnie is relying on the Great British public to get him out of the show, he may have to think again. Despite his reluctance to be in the programme, the bookies have him down as the favourite to win the show, proving he’s popular with the TV audience and therefore unlikely to get the shove from them.
