Sugababe Heidi Range and fiancé Dave Berry have announced the end of their 8 year relationship. The couple, who got engaged on New Year’ Eve 2009, had been planning to marry this year.

According to the announcement made by Sugababe singer Heidi on her Twitter page, she and Berry separated several months ago, but had waited until now to break the news officially. The celebrity couple first got together in 2003 and had been planning to marry at the end of the year or in early 2012 when they unexpectedly called time on their 8-year romance.

Speaking at the time of her engagement, Heidi revealed the romantic marriage proposal took place at the London flat the couple had shared and described how Berry had surprised her with a square cut diamond engagement ring at five minutes to midnight on New Year’s Eve 2009.

While the Sugababe took to social media to break the news that her engagement to Berry had been called off, her former fiancé took another route, issuing an official statement through his management. Both the singer and the TV and radio host insist the break up was amicable and that no third party was involved in their decision to call an end to their relationship.

Their love lives may have taken a nose dive in recent times, however their careers appear to be on the up as pop singer Heidi is currently in training for her stint on Dancing on Ice which starts in January while Dave Berry is preparing to take over the hot seat from Johnny Vaughan as the breakfast show host on Capital FM weekdays from the New Year.

Sugababes get the boot from Jay-Z’s record label

The new Sugababe line-up have reportedly been dropped from Roc-A-Fella Records

The new Sugababe line-up have reportedly been dropped from Roc-A-Fella Records

After the latest album Sweet 7 released earlier this month failed to make the top 10, the Sugababes have reportedly been dropped from Jay-Z’s record label ending their dreams of a career in the US.

Reports suggest that the band singed a 3-record deal with Roc-A-Fella Records last year, however a spokesperson for the Sugababes has come out recently to say that the girls were never signed to the label.

Sweet 7 was the Sugababe’s 7th studio album and their first record to be released under the new line-up. The only original member of the band, Keisha Buchanan was replaced by Eurovision song singer, Jade Ewen last September.

However the latest offering from the Sugababes Sweet 7, has not proved popular. It Charted originally at number 14 before dropping to number 37, and leaving the top 40 completely within a couple of weeks.

In a strange twist of fate Roc-A-Fella Records, who are said to be referring to the Sugababes as “former clients” are now said to be looking into the possibility of signing up the rejected band member Keisha. A source close to the singer says she will be flying out to the US soon to start work on her solo album with the record label.
