Ronan and Yvonne have revealed their decision to end their 12-year marriage

Ronan and Yvonne have revealed their decision to end their 12-year marriage

The shock announcement came yesterday (Thursday) that singer Ronan Keating and his wife Yvonne had called time of their marriage after 12 years. The couple had what was considered to be one of the strongest marriages in showbiz so the news has come as a great shock to fans and even those couple to the pair.

Since the split was revealed, the tabloids have been full of rumours that the Boyzone star’s friendship with a dancer is the root cause of the break-down of his marriage. According to a number of newspaper reports, Ronan became close to a blonde dancer while the band were on a comeback tour last year.

However there has been no formal word on why the Ronan and former model Yvonne have split, although they have said in a statement that their children are a top priority and that they will both do all they can to make the split as painless as possible for their kids.

33-year-old Ronan and Yvonne met as teenagers, marrying in a ceremony on a Caribbean island in 1998. Their first child was born within their first year of marriage. The couple have three children between them, 11-year-old Jack, Marie 9, and Ali who is 4 year old.

Boyzone release new single featuring Stephen Gately’s vocals

Boyzone are about to release a moving tribute to their former band mate, Stephen Gately, who died suddenly last October at his holiday home in Majorca at the age of 33.

The track is particularly poignant as it features Stephen’s vocals. The song, entitled Gave It All Away, was written by Mika and is one of the last songs recorded by the Irish boyband member before his untimely death.

The video which accompanies the track is also incredibly moving. All 4 remaining band members locked themselves away in a room with their director and explored their memories of Stephen. The promo for the video shows Ronan Keating break down in tears as he mourns the loss of his dear friend and colleague.

The track, Gave It All Away, was due to be recorded two years ago, but a problem with ownership rights prevented them from releasing the song. Following Stephen’s death, a chance encounter between Ronan Keating and Mika in LA enabled Boyzone to seal the deal on the rights to the song. Keith Duffy described it as though “Stephen was smiling down on us” as the track had been a favourite of his.

Speaking about the new single, Ronan said the band had put their “heart and soul” into making it the best record possible. Gave It All Away will be featured on Boyzone’s new album entitled Brothers, which is due for release in March.

Stephen Gately did not die after an 8-hour drinking binge say his family

Stephen Gately’s grieving family have spoken out in defence of the Boyzone star who died suddenly whilst on holiday in Majorca over the weekend. Today reports have emerged through the press which suggest that the singer had undergone an 8-hour drinking binge and had possibly choked on his own vomit as a result. The 33-year-old’s family have totally rubbished the claims and say they have evidence which completely contradicts this theory.

A lawyer acting on behalf of the Gately family said a close relative had spoken to Stephen at 12:30am just before he left the apartment for a night out with civil partner Andrew Cowles. After partying in a gay nightclub until 4am, the couple headed home accompanied by a third man they met whilst out. The family lawyer stated that “An 8-hour drinking session is something we do not accept” adding, “Our information would suggest it is simply wrong.”

Spanish police have ruled out any foul play announcing officially that there were “no signs of suspicious circumstances.” A full post mortem has had to be delayed until tomorrow as today is a national holiday in Spain.

Suicide has also been ruled out with friends and relatives commenting on how happy the singer has been recently. He is said to have been in a good place both personally and professionally and was in the finishing stages of completing a children’s book, a new venture for the pop star and one he was enjoying immensely.

Stephen was last seen out publically at the Pride of Britain Awards alongside fellow Boyzone band member, Ronan Keating, last week. Yesterday the remaining Boyzone singers flew out to Majorca to comfort Stephen’s partner. In a band statement issued on their official website the boys wrote “We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother.”

Robbie Williams' limo knocks down a photographer

Following his triumphant comeback performance on last night’s X-Factor results show, Robbie Williams was mobbed by fans and photographers as he attempted to leave the TV studios in Wembley. In scenes described as being “chaotic” one rooky 18 year old photographer got a little too close to the pop star’s limo which resulted in him being dragged underneath the vehicle.

The former Take That singer appeared on the X-Factor to perform his brand new single, due for release today, entitled Bodies. It was the first time Robbie had performed the track on live TV in the UK and he was visibly emotional after the appreciative response he received from the audience.

After Robbie emerged from his successful performance he was whisked away in the back his Chrysler limo when the snapper fell under the car. Security rushed to the aid of the trapped photographer. Robbie was described as looking “tearful” by one onlooker as he left his limo following the accident. The young photographer, known only as Steven, was said to have received medical treatment but his injuries were only minor.

Robbie also acted as a mentor earlier in the week for this year’s X-Factor contestants. When asked who he tipped for glory this year, he chose to remain silent and said he was unable to pick between them.

Following the first live show of the series, Rachel and girl group Kandy Rain found themselves in the sing-off. After the judges failed to reach a decision, it went down to the public vote with Kandy Rain coming in last and exiting the show. Their mentor, Louis Walsh, pulled out of last night’s show following the sudden death of Stephen Gately, whose band Boyzone Louis manages.
