Star Limousines Ltd were rewarded for their hard work over the last 12 months on Sunday night at The Transport Broker Awards ceremony where they picked up the trophy for Best Limo Hire Company in the South West.

Other companies, who’ve also had a great 2009 and were nominated alongside Star Limousines, included First Choice Limousines, and Limo-1. But on the night there could only be one winner, and this year the accolade was bestowed upon Star Limousines in recognition of the superb limo hire service they’ve provided to Limo Broker customers over the last year.

Star Limousines provide top class chauffeur driven limo hire to customers in the South West area covering a wide range of locations from Kent to Worthing, Brighton and Hove to Heathrow and Gatwick, from Hastings to Eastbourne, to name but a few. Plus they offer exclusive one and two day limo trips to France, perfect for a spot of shopping in Paris, or to stock up on some duty free.

With a stunning fleet of limos including a selection of the highly popular Chrysler 300 limos in a variety of different colours, and the Rolls Royce Phantoms which are often used for weddings, and 16 seater hummer H6 limo, ideal for a night out on the town.

The Transport Broker Awards were delighted to present Star Limousines with their trophy and hope their success continues in 2010.

Sales of second hand limos on the rise

Despite the economic downturn, one limo hire company in East Sussex is reporting an increase in not only the number of limo hire bookings it’s receiving, but also the number of enquiries into purchasing second hand limos. Star Limousines is the largest operator within its area. They are also the only European agent for renowned coach builders, Krystal Enterprises, known in the UK as Limo World UK.

This second string to the limo hire company’s bow seems to paying dividends. They suspect that their increased limo hire bookings and second hand limos sales are linked. As some hire companies fall victim to the recession, others who are surviving may be forced to downsize their fleet. Due to the decrease in limo operators and a narrower choice of vehicles to choose from, customers are not able to find suitable limos for hire.

Star Limousines have maintained their original fleet and are therefore in high demand as they offer a huge range of limos. Other limo hire companies are beginning to realise that their lack of choice is losing them customers, so they are turning to the second hand limo market as a means of bridging the gap.

Many limo hire companies are still finding it hard to get credit from banks so buying a brand new limousine is simply out of the question. So as an alterative, they are looking to purchase the best second hand vehicles they can get their hands on.

Star Limousines are able to offer a great range of some of the latest models, often saving a staggering 50% off the original price. With Chrysler 300 limos available from just £25,995 there’s never been a better time to invest in a new addition to your fleet.

Hummer H2 Limo Vandalised at St Bede’s Senior School, East Sussex

Over £1,000 worth of damage was caused to a top of the range Hummer H2 Limo as it drove through a street in Sussex. The luxury vehicle was on its way to an end of year school event for staff at St Bede’s boarding school when an unidentified youth threw at glass bottle at the limo as it drove by.

Unfortunately the unprovoked attack is not a one-off incident. The owner of the vehicle, Mr Nick Clarke, who runs the limo hire company Star Limousines explained that “Over the past two weeks we’ve suffered more than £3,000 worth of damage to our cars.”

This sharp rise in vandalism has prompted the company to invest in the latest CCTV technology to attempt to tackle this growing problem.

Police were called to the scene however the perpetrator had already fled the area. The Second Master of St. Bede’s School said the bottle-thrower was not believed to be a student with a grudge and that the incident was “nothing to do with our staff or students.”

The driver of the £100,000 Hummer H2 limo narrowly escaped injury as the glass Pimms bottle hit the vehicle, inches away from the driver’s window. Police are continuing their investigations although no one, as yet, has been arrested.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is being urged to contact PC Jessica Reynolds at Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 2273 of July 3. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
