David Beckham replacing his Roll Royce Phantom with a Ghost

World famous footballer, David Beckham, is selling his limited edition black Rolls Royce Phantom in order to make way for another luxury vehicle, a Rolls Royce Ghost.

The former England skipper bought the Rolls Royce Drophead Phantom Coupé in 2008 paying £350,000 for the limited edition black vehicle and spending several thousand of pounds again having the state of the art convertible customised.

The footballer is believed to have overseen the entire customisation of the Phantom, adding blacked out tinted windows, 24 alloy wheels, wood decking, and even having the iconic symbol that rides on the bonnet of every Rolls Royce, the Spirit of Ecstasy, painted black to match the rest of the car, creating a truly unique vehicle. Due to the Phantom’s unmistakable look, the Rolls Royce became a famous car in Hollywood where the Beckham family currently live.

However it seems the Beckham clan are looking for their next Rolls Royce fix, with David reportedly on the waiting list for a brand new Rolls Royce Ghost.

Only last week, specialist Rolls Royce car rental provider, RentaRoller.co.uk reported a upturn in the fortunes of the Rolls Royce Ghost as the private hire firm had experienced an increase in the number of enquiries and bookings for the Ghost which lead RentaRoller.co.uk to predict that the Rolls Royce Ghost will become the wedding car of 2012.

Limo Broker also boasts a stunning range of Rolls Royce vehicles for hire in all parts of the UK; take your pick from the immaculate Rolls Royce Phantom, the Drophead Phantom and the Rolls Royce Ghost, all of which are available for hire for a range of occasions.

RollsRoyceGhost

Rolls Royce are celebrating this week after recent sales figures for the previous year showed that the luxury car manufacturer had sold a total of 3,538 vehicles over the course of 2011 signalling a new record for the renowned car makers.

The sales figures are the highest Rolls Royce has achieved in its 107 year history, with China being revealed as the biggest consumer of Rolls Royce cars in the last year, beating the US which had been the largest market for the car manufacturer since 2003 when the Phantom was first launched. The UK was revealed as the third biggest market for Rolls Royce throughout 2001, following behind China and the USA.

The recent statistics published by Rolls Royce showed that sales in the Pacific and Asia grew by 47% over the course of 2011, with business in the UK rising by 30%. The luxury brand credited its flagship model, the Rolls Royce Phantom, and the Rolls Royce Ghost, for helping to attract sales over the course of the last 12 months.

Sales for these vehicles, with the Ghost boasting a starting price of £165,000, were 31% higher in 2011 compared to the previous year, outstripping the previous record set in 1978 and the success of the popular model of the time, the Silver Shadow ll.

Rolls Royce are looking to capitalise on this success further in 2012 with plans to break into new markets including South America, develop its product range, and also to expand its existing plant at Goodwood in West Sussex.

Rentaroller.co.uk pits the Rolls Royce Phantom against the Rolls Royce Ghost

As experts in the provision of Rolls Royce hire, Rentaroller.co.uk have pitted two of their most highly sought after models against each other in a bid to find the ultimate Rolls Royce model.

While the Rolls Royce Phantom may seem to have a distinct advantage as the luxury car maker’s flagship model, the Rolls Royce Ghost more than holds its own in the luxury chauffeur driven car hire market appealing especially to busy executives and corporate clients due to its compact design.

The Rolls Royce made its official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and was marketed as a more “measured” and “realistic car” in comparison to the mighty Rolls Royce Phantom. The Ghost got its name as a nod to an earlier model, the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, which was first built by the company back in 1906.

The Rolls Royce Phantom was been around slightly longer having been first introduced by the luxury car manufacturer in 2003. The Phantom is available as a 4-door sedan and also a 2-door Drophead Phantom convertible model, both of which are available to hire through rentaroller.co.uk.

According to the Rolls Royce limo hire provider, the Phantom is often the first choice for couples looking for a stylish wedding car as the extended wheelbase provides extra onboard space which is often required for wedding day transportation either to transport extra member of the bridal party or to accommodate a bride with a large princess style dress. The Phantom also boasts a definite wow factor with an imposing and almost majestic presence which is especially fitting for a wedding.

From Bentley to Ferrari, Mercedes to Mini, all the big guns were out in force at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. The biennial event is highly regarded by the transport industry to be one of the biggest and most influential Motor Shows in the world, hence the impressive turn out from the big name manufacturers.

Some of the stand out vehicles from the show included the new model from Ferrari, the 458 Italia. Showcased in the traditional Ferrari colour, hot red, visitors flocked in their thousand to grab a glimpse of the 2 seater high performance supercar.

Bentley is the most trusted choice for wedding cars in the U.K with demand for Bentley wedding car hire going through the roof during the peak summer season. The new Bentley Mulsanne was unveiled at the show this week and is expected to take over from the Bentley Arnage as the vehicle to be seen in on your wedding day. The Mulsanne was debuted at the Pebble Beach event in America as the “Concours D’Elegance” but its appearance at Frankfurt marks its first European outing.

Rolls Royce showed off their credit crunch busting limo, the Ghost. However the star entry from the U.K had to go to the brand new 2 seater Mini. Details of the new model had been kept tightly under wraps but it was definitely worth the wait. The open-topped roadster is sure to set many a mini-lover’s heart aflutter with its stylish appearance and pokey engine. It’s also good news for the car manufacturing industry in the U.K as the new mini will be made in BMW’s Oxford plant.

Rolls Royce beats credit crunch with budget limousine

Rolls Royce Ghost

Rolls Royce is a name synonymous with luxury and decadence, however it seems even the world’s most exclusive car manufacturer isn’t immune to the credit crunch. Rolls Royce has just unveiled its latest addition to the prestigious dynasty, the Ghost. The new limo’s unique selling point has to be its price, rumoured to be around the $245,000 mark (£148,000) which by Rolls Royce standards, is a bargain.

The Ghost will join the company’s continental fleet of vehicles and is available from autumn 2009. The exact price won’t be revealed until the Frankfurt Motor Show however it will be considerably lower than Rolls Royce’s most popular limo, the Phantom which sells for $380,000 (£229,600). The Rolls Royce Phantom has been an extremely successful car for the brand, and is a very popular choice for wedding car hire the world over.

Although plans for a more affordable Rolls Royce were in the pipeline long before the global economic downturn, the timing of the Ghost couldn’t be better. Rolls Royce CEO agrees it is an “ideal” time to be launching a budget limo after the company saw a 34% drop in sales this year in comparison to 2008. The ethos of the new limo is also timely as the CEO went on to say “It’s less ostentatious, so owners can give the impression that they’re downsizing”

Despite being nick-named the Baby Rolls, the Ghost is still a mighty vehicle. It stretches over 5 metres in length and has a 6.6 litre engine and boasts upward of 500bhp; and with a price tag estimated to be £80,000 lower than the Rolls Royce Phantom, this new limo is likely to fly out of the showroom.
