Party-goers are still heading into limos and enjoying parties despite the credit crunch, a new report has found.
Figures from Yell.com’s nine million monthly user input showed most searches carried out on the site in the party sector were for limousine hire, as well as fancy dress and marquees and tents.
Moreover, the analysis found that 85 per cent of people in the UK attend 11 parties every year, with the average Brit planning three of their own.
The average British consumer is spending over £1,000 each year on social gatherings, with people aged 55 to 60 spending the most.
Weddings, hen or stag parties and events to celebrate an engagement or anniversary are seeing guests spend the most, at over £100 per event, the report found.
Consumer Development Director at the company Clodagh Ward told the Press Association: “Despite the current financial climate, the UK’s desire to party continues unabated.”
