Whitney Houston to launch comeback on X-Factor

Whitney Houston is to make a guest appearance on this series of the X-Factor. She will perform during the live Saturday night show on October 18th to coincide with the release of her brand new album in the U.K the following day.

The X-Factor appearance will be Whitney’s first UK TV performance in over 12 years. The singing sensation has been out of the limelight in recent years whilst she battled a serious drug addiction and went through a difficult divorce from Bobby Brown. Now the Bodyguard star has drawn a line under this turbulent chapter of her life and is looking forward to her big UK comeback on the hit ITV1 Show saying: “”It should be a fun night. I am a fan of Simon Cowell‘s and look forward to meeting him.”

Whitney is one of the biggest female recording artists of all time having sold 134 million records worldwide during her impressive career. Her latest album, I Look To You, has already been released in the US to great success, grabbing the number one spot in the album charts and selling 305,000 copies so far.

The big stars keep on coming for the X-Factor with ex-Take That star Robbie Williams already gearing up for his performance on the first live show of the series this Saturday. This year’s contestants have already been raving about their encounter with the Robster after they were treated to a singing lesson with the man himself earlier this week.

Former Take That star Robbie Williams plans to make a massive comeback as he debuts his brand new single for the first time in front of an audience on the X-Factor. The Rock DJ singer will perform his latest track, Bodies, on the popular Saturday night show in October so as to coincide with the single’s release date.

The performance will be the first time the singer has performed the song live in the U.K, and what a way to do it. With an audience of millions of music loving fans and a panel of high profile judges, Robbie couldn’t have asked for a better platform on which to showcase his new work.

The 32-year-old singer has confessed to being fan of the hit ITV show and said he’ll “be watching every week, just like everyone else.” An insider at the X-Factor said they were very excited to have secured Robbie’s performance on one of the live finals. They also said they were looking into the possibility of having the singer from Stoke conduct a master class with some of the finalists or even work as a mentor with one or two.

Last year Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and Beyonce all performed on the show and it seems this year they’re not exactly begging for performers with a starry line-up already being talked about. One of X-Factor’s own judges, Cheryl Cole is due to perform her debut single on the show too and rumours are circulating as regards to a few other top musical names.
