Thieves in Tulsa, USA, burgled a limo hire depot with a very specific target in mind. The owner of the limousine hire company received a phone call from an employee asking if he was working on the luxury pink hummer limousine as the worker had arrived at the depot to find the vehicle propped up on jacks, with all of its tyres missing.
It is thought the thieves targeted the limo hire garage with the main aim of stealing the custom made rims and tyres thought to be worth in the region of $2,000. The robbers also seized the opportunity to make off with a credit card they found at the depot, which the police have been able to trace as the thieves have used the stolen card at various local stores.
The theft of the custom made rims and tyres caused a major headache for the limo hire company as they had to disappoint a number of customers and cancel their bookings as the limo was off the road for some time while they found and fitted temporary tyres.
CCTV footage taken from the limo hire yard is being analysed by police. The thieves managed to obtain entry to the yard as they knew the key code, however the owner of the Kristal Limo says he doesn’t believe the robbery was an inside job, or that a former employee is responsible as he doesn’t recognise the two men captured on the CCTV footage.
The police are continuing their investigation and are trying to track down the two men who made off with the limo tyres and rims in a black pickup. The limo hire company owner is keeping a close eye on eBay to see if the stolen items appear on there.
