Stolen limo found at the bottom of a lake in Canada

A 20-seater limousine bus costing $100,000 has been found at the bottom of a lake in Canada. Police believe the vehicle may have been driven off the cliff and into the water below deliberately.

The giant limo was stolen in the early hours of Sunday morning from Sun Valley Limousine. The vehicle was first spotted submerged in the water in the Okangan Lake shortly after 9:30am on Sunday morning.

The police searched the shoreline around the lake to search for signs of any victims who may have been travelling onboard the limo bus, but are yet to find any indications of passengers. A dive team has been scheduled to search the water where the limo was found to check for any passengers who may have been trapped onboard the vehicle.

However the authorities believe that the signs show the limo was driven off the cliff top, plummeting 100 feet into the lake below on purpose. There is no indication the limo rolled off the cliff as it appears it was driven off the road at a straight angle, as opposed to following the curve of the road.

Before coming to its watery end, the luxury 20-seater limousine bus was hired out for celebrations and events and was especially popular with party-goers attending school proms, hen and stag parties and birthday celebrations.

Drunk man wakes up in limo and drives it home

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA

A reveller in Nebraska who had been travelling on a 40ft limo bus as part of a group of friends is now facing criminal charges as its alleged he woke up in the limo and proceeded to drive the vehicle to his home last weekend.

30-year-old Steven Hunter was caught after his wallet was found onboard the limo after the giant party bus was found parked up a few streets from his home in the Mid West of America.

Police believe the man had passed out in the toilet area of the 40ft long limousine after having a few too many. At 3:30am the chauffeur parked the limo back at the limo hire company’s depot, leaving the keys inside the vehicle.

When the limo company boss arrived at the depot the following morning and found the $80,000 limo bus missing, he raised the alarm with the police.

It is thought that the party goer woke up inside the limo and discovered the keys, at which point he proceeded to drive the limo to his home. However when questioned by police, Steven Hunter denies this, saying he has no recollection of the incidents which lead to the limo being found abandoned in a street near to his house.

The man has since been charged with criminal mischief and unauthorised use of a vehicle.

Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson travels with Limo Broker

george-sampson

Limo Broker was delighted to transport Britain’s Got Talent winner, George Sampson, this week for a chauffeur driven trip in a top of the range part bus to Alton Towers.

Limo Broker approved agent, Lady Jayne Limousines of Manchester, provided the transport for George Sampson and his family and friends to see the firework display at the Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire.

17-year-old George shot to fame two years ago when he appeared on the ITV1 talent show, Britain’s Got Talent. The talented street dancer went on to win the entire series, and performed for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance as part of his prize for winning the popular talent contest.

Since winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2008, the performer from Warrington’s career has gone from strength to strength securing high profile advertising deals with the likes of Natwest Bank, releasing a dance DVD and single, and even adding another string to his bow by taking on an acting role in the hit BBC1 series, Waterloo Road.

However, like most 17-year-old lads, George enjoys spending time with his family and friends and decided to treat them to a chauffeur driven trip to Alton Towers over the weekend. The down-to-earth star even chose to book the whole event himself instead of getting one of his “people” onto the case.

Lady Jayne Limousines sent their state of the art party bus complete with neon disco dance floor and high tech entertainment features to collect George Sampson and his party for their Alton Towers trip. According to feedback from the Manchester based limo hire operator, George and his group enjoyed their party bus experience very much and Lady Jayne say they look forward to transporting the Britain’s Got Talent star again.

2 teenage revellers in Canadian party bus fall

Limo-Bus

Party buses are very popular with youngsters travelling to school proms

A celebration for a 17th birthday onboard a party bus ended disaster after two teenage girls fell out of the side of bus as it took a bend in the road.

The party bus was travelling in Langley, Canada last Friday evening when the incident took place. Police witnessed the teenagers tumble from the party bus while it was moving. The emergency services were called and one of the girls was taken to hospital having sustained head injuries. She was released later that night after receiving medical treatment. The other girl escaped from the accident unscathed.

Party buses are a very popular form of transport both in Canada and the UK for celebrating special occasions. One of reasons they are favoured by youngsters for birthday parties or school proms is that they offer room for more passengers than the average limousines, plus many party buses have onboard dance floors and karaoke machines which are an added attraction. Limo Broker offers party bus hire all over the UK, see this link for more details http://www.limobroker.co.uk/pages/limo-hire/limo-bus-hire/index.htm

Following the accident in Canada, the party was brought to an abrupt end after police boarded the party bus and questioned a number of witnesses including the chaperon and the driver. Witnesses reported that someone onboard the vehicle had pushed the emergency exit open as the party bus turned the corner.

The company which supplied the party bus says they are looking into the possibility of having an alarm installed which sounds if the emergency exit is opened to avoid a similar situation arising.

Limo Hire Company boss loses licence appeal

Limousine company owner loses out at licence appeal hearing

A Lanarkshire-based limo hire company boss has lost her appeal to have her business licence reinstated.

1st Class Limos had its licence removed by the Transport Commissioner for Scotland after the firm was discovered to have been operating while in breach of a number regulations. An independent transport tribunal held recently sided with the Traffic Commissioner and upheld its previous ruling to strip the company of its licence.

The business ran into difficulties after it emerged that the owner had been operating for some years without a valid licence. The limousine hire firm was also found to have been providing alcohol packages for customers travelling in its vehicles without a valid liquor licence.

However the owner of 1st Class Limos, Lisa Raffety, argues that she has been made a “scapegoat” following new regulations which were introduced which made it difficult for limo bosses to operate within the rules. Ms Raffety added that until recently, it was “impossible to meet the requirements of the licence because the necessary adjustments could not be made to the vehicles.”

The former limo boss upholds that she wasn’t doing anything different to many other party limo companies, adding that these firms are now starting up new businesses under different names “so that they can’t be judged on their trading history.” The decision to remove her license has had a bad affect on the businesswoman as she revealed that she’s had to sell a number of her limousines.
