Bradford limousine hire company comes to the rescue of prom girls

A group of year 11 school girls from Bradford almost had their prom night ruined after the limousine they had booked for their big occasion failed to show.

After the father of one of the prom-goers called the company to ask what had happened to the chauffeur driven limo, he was told that the vehicle had broken down and wouldn’t be able to take the girls to the prom as arranged. No replacement limo was offered.

Desperate for a ride to the prom, the girls flagged down a passing limo and asked if they could help them out. The chauffeur agreed to shuffle his jobs around in order to save the day for the young prom goers.

Bradford based limousine hire company, Oasis Limos, explained that they had three different limos in the area that night to cope with the demand due to the school prom. The firm was able to re-arrange its three limousines to pick up the group of girls and take them on a 20 minute spin before dropping them off at the prom at Knaresborough Cricket Club.

The company which failed to provide the booked limo refused later in the week to return the girl’s deposit as they had told to the press about the incident.

It’s been reported that the first limo company also let down a number of other prom-goers on the same night by failing to provide the luxury transportation they had booked for their special occasion. The operator says it apologises to its customers for the inconvenience, but that the situation was unavoidable as the limousine which had been booked for the prom jobs had been involved in an accident prior to the prom date.

Elvis impersonating limo chauffeur from Bradford jailed for animal cruelty

Bradford man who offered chauffeur driven limo hire services dressed as Elvis has been jailed for animal cruelty

A farmer from Cullingworth, Bradford, who runs a side-line in chauffeur driven limo hire, has been given a 14-week jail sentence for animal cruelty charges.

53-year-old Harry Sutcliffe admitted 23 counts of animal cruelty at his farm in the Bradford area. An inspector who visited the premises described it as one of the “worst scenes” she had ever faced. Several instances of serious neglect were recorded by the authorities, such as failing to provide water for his animals and leaving the carcases of his dead animals to rot in an old sack.

Sutcliffe also operates his own limo hire business where he offers his services as a chauffeur and dresses up as either Elvis Presley or James Bond. The farmer and limo chauffeur is reported to be heavily in debt, owing in the region of £300,000.

The Bradford man is a repeat offender and was convicted back in 2008 for criminal damage after admitting pelting a welfare officer’s car with his muck spreader.

The solicitor acting on behalf of Sutcliffe requested that he should not receive a jail sentence, as Sutcliffe is now working in cooperation with the authorities.

Following the hearing at the Magistrates Court Sutcliffe was banned from keeping animals for 5 years, and also received a custodial sentence of 14-weeks.
