Lily Allen has taken to Twitter to thank her fans for their kinds messages following the birth of her first child. Although no official announcement has been made, it’s understood the Smile singer gave birth to a baby girl on November 25th.

The singer is known for being a serial tweeter but hadn’t posted a message for a week until her tweet today which read, “Thank you for all the flowers and lovely messages everybody. Very touching indeed. nuff luv x x” Prior to this, the last tweet from the singer came on November 25th, the date she’s rumored to have given birth, which simply said “Totes amaze”.

The news of the baby’s safe arrival is especially happy as the 26-year-old had previously suffered two miscarriages, one last year and another in 2008 while in a relationship with Chemical Brothers’ star Ed Simons.

Lily, who now goes by her married name of Lily Cooper, broke the news of her pregnancy in June when she married her partner Sam Cooper in Gloucestershire where the couple now live.

While Lily is yet to officially confirm the birth or the name of the baby, friends and family have done little to quash the rumours that the baby has indeed arrived with the singer’s sister Sarah Owen gushing on Twitter, “I LOVE my little niece” and other celebrities such as Amanda Holden and Myleene Klass sending their congratulations via the social network.

Cheryl Cole scoops the top Glamour award

Cheryl thanked her dentist during her acceptance speech at the Glamour Awards

Singer Cheryl Cole scooped the top prize at the Glamour Awards yesterday after being named Woman of the Year.

The X-factor judge, who has rarely been out if the papers since announcing her separation from Chelsea footballer husband Ashley Cole, attended the event with her mother.

The 26-year-old Geordie was presented with her award by US heartthrob Jason Lewis, best known for his role as Samantha’s boyfriend Jerry “Smith” Jerrod in Sex and the City. Collecting the award the petite pop star said she was overwhelmed at the accolade, and thanked her dentist during her acceptance speech, presumably for her perfect smile.

However the Girls Aloud singer has come in for some criticism in the press today with some branding her a “lollipop head” because of her painfully thin frame and big hairdo. The former wag has become noticeably skinner since the breakdown of her marriage.

Apart from Cheryl Cole’s triumph making the news after the event, an onstage spat between James Corden and Sir Patrick Stewart during the ceremony has also hit the headlines. The pair clashed in front of the invited audience after the veteran actor criticised the Gavin and Stacey star’s presenting style.

Other winners on the night included Cheryl’s arch rival Lily Allen who won Best Solo Artist, Welsh singer Duffy presented Yoko Ono with the gong for Outstanding Contribution, Christine Bleakley was named Presenter of the Year, and Nicole Ritchie Entrepreneur of the Year.

Lily Allen and Cheryl Cole’s war of words rumbles on

Lily Allen branded a "little girl" by Cheryl Cole

For years outspoken Lily Allen and Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole have been at loggerheads, despite having never met in person. So when the pair finally came face to face at a recent event, is there any wonder sparks were flying?!

At first Lily and Cheryl seemed to have put their differences to one side. Cheryl described how she’d hugged the Smile singer and said, “It’s nice to meet you” to which Lily replied, “There’s no beef.” Problem solved? Not exactly…

Only minutes later the X-Factor judge over heard her new friend taking the “p***” out of her in the press room. Cheryl’s reaction to his was to brand Lily a “little girl” before adding, “I’m a 26-year-old woman and I’m not at school any more.”

Just before Christmas Cheryl had said she would never forgive Lily Allen after the comments she’s made in the past about her footballer husband Ashley Cole, and band mate Nicola Roberts.

This week Lily Allen has been pictured soaking up the sun on a beach in New Zealand, so there’s yet to be a response from her camp on the latest feud. We suspect we haven’t heard the last of this rant so stand by for a reaction from the feisty cockney singer so time soon.

Tickets for 40th anniversary of Glastonbury in 2010 sell out

Glastonbury 2010 line-up is revealed early
Glastonbury 2010 is a sell out

Glastonbury 2010 is a sell out

Tickets for the Glastonbury Festival 2010 have completely sold out in less than 24 hours. It’s in stark contrast to last year when tickets took weeks sell and the in 2007, tickets were still available right up until the start of the festival. Despite the event being 9 months away music fans were keen to get their hands on their tickets for the 2010 event which marks the festival’s 40th anniversary.

Only those individuals who were pre-registered members were allowed to purchase tickets. The move was introduced a few years ago in order to cut down on counterfeit tickets. After the phone lines opened at 9am yesterday morning the switchboard was inundated with calls. Last year 137,000 fans descended upon Worth Farm in Somerset to catch some of the biggest live acts including Lily Allen, Lady Ga Ga, Dizzee Rascal and Tom Jones.

Tickets prices are up £10 on last year with a pass to the Festival which will run from June 23rd to 27th setting you back £185 plus a £5 booking fee. Rumours are already circulating as to the 2010 line-up and Festival organiser, Michael Eavis, is adding to the hype by announcing: “The expectations are really high. We’re trying to get the best headliners in the world.” There have been whispers that Beyonce, U2, Radiohead and the Rolling Stones could be making an appearance on the Pyramid stage to help celebrate the Festival’s 40th Anniversary. Eavis has also hinted that he’d like to have an act from each year of the Festival’s history.

If you didn’t manage to get your hands on a ticket yesterday you could still get lucky; a small number of tickets will be released “in the coming weeks” mainly cancelled tickets and those where the transaction failed. Again only pre-registered members can apply for these tickets so check out the official website for more details.

The celebs turn out in force for the GQ Awards- but Kate Moss steals the show

Kate Moss a bit tipsy at GQ Awards

The celebrities certainly turned out in force for last night’s GQ Awards but despite not picking up a gong, Kate Moss still managed to steal the headlines after her appearance at the glittering London ceremony. The model is reported to have stormed out after TV actor, James Nesbitt, made a joke at her expense.

Before Kate’s impromptu outburst the gal of the moment was singer, Lily Allen, as she was named Woman of The Year by the men’s magazine. It seemed GQ put David Walliam’s penchant for wearing ladies’ clothes to one side as he was handed the trophy for Most Stylish Man.

However the world famous supermodel managed to upstage all the winners by marching out of the star studded ceremony after the remark made on stage by the Murphy’s Law actor. She also arrived late at the prestigious awards and was ushered through a side door with her boyfriend, Jamie Hince in tow.

The Sun newspaper reports that the 35-year-old model shouted “He’s so f***ing rude!” before walking out and declaring to the room she would never attend the event again. Her explosion could be put down to the free booze she had readily consumed; she certainly appeared a bit squiffy when she was pictured next to her mate Lily Allen in the winner’s room.

Rapper Dizzy Rascal, who picked up the trophy for best solo artist, was reported to have accused the model, who is the face of Rimmel, of stealing his thunder after she interrupted him whilst being interviewed to collect a misplaced lipstick. He is believed to have made fun of the mother of one coming back with “You keep stealing my light, go away.”

Despite the un-model behaviour the ceremony was a success with top funny man Michael McIntyre scooping the comedy award and Welsh performer Michael Sheen collecting the gong for best actor. An army of celebs arrived at the lavish event at the Royal Opera House in the back of chauffeur driven limousines including Liz Hurley, Kelly Brook, Eva Mendes and Alan Carr.
