Liam Gallagher still angry with Noel over Oasis walk-out

Liam crushes any hopes of an Oasis reconciliation

Following Oasis’ high profile split back in August, lead singer Liam Gallagher has revealed that he’s still carrying a grudge against his brother and former band mate, Noel. It’s sad news for fans of the band as the likelihood of a reconciliation between the Gallagher brothers looks extremely unlikely, if not impossible, following Liam’s recent comments.

The band came to an abrupt end in August after reports began circulating that relations within the group were severely strained. Liam revealed that the pair no longer spoke and their only contact was on stage, and only interacted by trading insults on Twitter. After Oasis pulled out of a headline gig at the V-Festival, it was announced that the group were disbanding. Their scheduled tour had to be pulled, disappointing thousands of fans.

The Gallagher brother’s mother was later quoted as saying that she thought the breakup would be a temporary thing. However it seems the situation is very much permanent as Liam is determined to distance himself from Noel as much as possible, and is even vowing to never perform a track penned by Noel ever again. Some of the biggest hits created by Noel include Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, and Live Forever.

Liam’s future plans for the band include potentially releasing a new album which he is working on with Gem Archer and Andy Bell. The band will continue to perform under the Oasis name unless a suitable alternative can be found.

Talking in an interview with a London paper, the Oasis lead singer said he has no time for his brother now as he explained: “If he thinks he can ring me up at any given stage in his f***ing lifetime, I’ll be busy. I’ll always be busy when he rings me up.”

Oasis band songwriter Noel Gallagher announced he’ll never play with brother and (apparently former) bandmate Liam Gallagher again after a fight reportedly led to the cancellation of their tour – but their mum predicted the band breakup will be temporary.

Oasis’s album, Dig Out Your Soul, has sold over 1.6 million copies worldwide since its release last October.

Since forming in 1991, the band has sold more than 50 million records and had eight number one singles in Britain.

Prior to the brothers having their differences, Liam spoke to Channelnewsasia.com in confidence:

“Oasis is my thing. I was born to be in Oasis. I was born to make Oasis the best. That’s what my goal is,” he told .

“I love the music. I love playing it. I love going around the world, seeing the fans and stuff. I can’t wait to get back there.”

Since the on-going personal issues between the two brothers, opinions have changed and the Gallagher brothers are not on speaking terms.

The rock band which was formed in Manchester in 1991, originally known as The Rain split this Friday amid reports that Liam smashed a guitar backstage and told Noel: “You’re no brother of mine.” Their fight is said to have become so violent that an ambulance was called.

Liam Gallagher revealed in an interview with music magazine NME this week that things have got so bad between him and his brother Noel, that they no longer speak. The only time the warring pair interact is on stage, or whilst throwing insults back and forth on Twitter.

The news comes just days before the Manchester lads are due to set foot on the V Festival stage to perform as the headline act. Outspoken Liam put the feud plainly saying “He doesn’t like me and I don’t like him, that’s it.”

The brothers certainly seem to be doing a good job of living up to this bold statement via their Twitter updates. Liam mocked Noel after seeing photos taken of him out on the lash saying he looked like he’d “got through to the next round of the X-Factor.” Noel took a more relaxed swipe at the Oasis lead singer referring to him as “what’siz’name.” Liam believes it’s a good thing they vent their anger on the micro blogging site as he puts it, it prevents “the f***ing tour from imploding.”

Heated exchanges between the Oasis band mates is nothing new however it seems this brotherly banter has taken a definite nasty turn. Noel admitted in an interview that his 2 year old son Donovan has never even met his uncle Liam.

Oasis fans are right to be anxious over their future as Liam even conceded himself that he has “not got a clue” what’s going on with the band. Liam’s decision to launch his own clothing label, Pretty Green, earlier this year could be seen as a sign that the lead singer is keeping his options open.
