Lady Ga Ga comes in for some stick after blood and gore stage show

Lady Ga Ga has come in for criticism this week for not toning down an attack scene in her tour show given recent events in Cumbria

Pop star Lady Ga Ga has come in for some serious stick this week after some of the audience members, who attended her Monster Ball concert in Manchester, were upset by the theme of blood and gore which featured in one of her routines.

It was felt by some Ga Ga fans that the scene, which saw the 24-year-old singer “attacked” by a number of dancers dressed in creepy black costumes, with one biting her neck and drawing blood, was insensitive given the tragic events which unfolded in the Lake District earlier this week.

One mother said that although she understood that a Lady Ga Ga show was likely to be outrageous given her wacky reputation, she still felt the Bad Romance singer had “crossed the line” with this latest stunt.

The pop star is in the middle of a gruelling world tour which has so far seen her take her show to Europe, Australia, the UK, and America. Ga Ga is about to head back out to the States later this month following a brief break in her touring schedule.

Despite the vast number of shows she’s already performed, the hard working singer has added yet more dates to her tour, one of which is during December at London’s O2 Arena. The introduction of the new dates for the Monster Ball Tour means Lady Ga Ga will be on the road right through until April 2011.

Beyonc--accepts-Grammy

Beyonce cleared up at last night’s 52nd annual Grammy Awards ceremony picking up a total of 6 gongs.

The staggering clutch of awards made the former Destiny’s Child singer the only female artist to pick up so many awards in one night at the Grammy’s ever. Prior to this, the most awards Beyonce had picked up in a single night was 5 back in 2005. She now has a massive 16 Grammys to her name in total.

The star studded event was held at The Staples Centre in Los Angeles and was attended by an array of celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Pink, Heidi Klum, and Katy Perry amongst others.

Picking up one of her 6 awards, Beyonce referred to her husband Jay-Z, something she rarely does as both artists are notoriously secretive about their relationship. During her acceptance speech the 28-year-old said, “I’d like to thank my family, including my husband. I love you.”

The Crazy in Love singer picked up the award for Best Song of the Year and Best R&B Song for the track Single Ladies (put a ring on it) she also picked up the trophy for Best Contemporary Album, Best Female Pop, and Best Vocal Performance.

The other big winners of the night included 20-year-old Taylor Swift who became the youngest artist ever to win the coveted Best Album Award. The country singer picked up a further three awards bring her tally of the night up to 4. Jay-Z, The Black Eyed Peas and Kings Of Leon all picked up three trophies each, and Eminem and Lady Gaga both picked up two each.

There was a poignant moment during the ceremony when Michael Jackson’s children, Prince Michael and Paris, collected a lifetime achievement award on behalf of their father.

Just when Kanye West was beginning to think he didn’t have a friend left in the world, in marches Lady Ga Ga. The Paparazzi singer has jumped to aid of the hip hop star after the music world turned on him after an incident at the MTV Music Video Awards last month. The problems all erupted after Kanye interrupted the acceptance speech of Taylor Swift as after she picked up the gong for best video. Kanye, a little worse for wear, commandeered the microphone and announced that Beyonce was rightful winner of the award in his eyes.

However, even Beyonce didn’t agree with Kanye and so started the celeb backlash. Music stars like Pink and Kelly Clarkson issued statements through their blogs and Twitter slamming Kanye’s actions. Even a grovelling apology from the man himself wasn’t enough to lay the matter to rest.

Now Lady Ga Ga has stepped in to defend his honour. The pair are about to embark on a joint-headlining tour this month. Ga Ga, who was in the audience at the time believes everyone is being “unfair” to judge the rap star over one mistake.

Speaking to the press ahead of the tour Lady Ga Ga went on to say, “I can tell you that he’s very sorry, and he made a mistake, and he knows that.” She also added we shouldn’t overlook Kanye’s talent and the huge contribution he has made to music during his career as she said: “Everyone likes to focus on gossip, but he’s changed music and he’s really prolific and an incredible person, and I think it’s unfair to judge somebody on one mistake they’ve made.”
