If you’re a celebrity, London is the only place to be this week. The much anticipated London Fashion Week kicked off last Friday with some of the biggest designers in the world flocking to the capital to display their latest collections and of course wherever fashion goes, the celebrities aren’t far behind.

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson flew in from America where she’s just started University to catch a few shows. As the current face of London label Burberry, the young actress seems to keen to keep up to date with the latest developments within the fashion industry. Veteran supermodel Kate Moss was present as was Naomi Campbell who at 39 years old, proved she still has the ability to own the catwalk as she revealed her enviable figure in a one shoulder swimsuit for Issey.

There was a particularly award moment at one of the shows this week as the infamous editor in chief at American Vogue, Anna Wintour, was pictured looking stony and leaning away from hip young girls about town, Pixie Geldof and Alexa Chung. Anna Wintour has something of a reputation as she’s believed to be the inspiration behind Meryl Streep’s character in The Devils Wears Prada. The unlikely trio were positioned next to each other during a show and American Vogue’s head honcho looked none too pleased with her companions.

GI Joe actress Sienna Miller was in town to showcase her clothing range Twenty8twelve which she runs along with her designer sister, Savannah. Their spring/summer collection had a distinctly London flavour with the actress citing “London girls” as the inspiration for the range.

One of the glitziest occasions of the week was the Vogue Dinner Party. Victoria Beckham showed up as did Claudia Schiffer and Stella McCartney. Supermodel of the moment Agness Deyn was pictured wearing 3 different outfits within a matter of hours as she darted between a variety of show and parties. At one point she was pictured sandwiched between Lorraine Kelly and Little Boots at the Henry Holland Show.

London Fashion Week as certainly lived up to its own hype this year. Despite the gloomy economic climate, fashion has proved itself to be irrepressible with the celebs, and us mere mortals, all jostling to get a glimpse of the latest designer collections.

Cheryl Cole has long been lauded as a style icon. These days, you’d be hard pressed to open a magazine and not find a picture of the Girls Aloud singer. Global beauty brand L’Oreal now hopes to bottle some of that Cheryl charm by launching her as the face of the iconic company in the U.K.

L’Oreal has wasted no time in lining up the X-Factor judge’s first assignment. From next month, Cheryl will be seen in adverts promoting the latest addition to the brand’s hair product range, Elvive Full Restore 5.

The adventurous singer recently dabbled with her hair colour opting for red-tinted locks. The look earned her the nick-name Cherry Cole in the tabloids but the 26 year-old saw the error of her ways and has since reverted back to her normal brunette colour, just in time to promote the new hair product.

Cheryl is out of the country at the moment as she is filming the section where the contestants visit the judges’ houses as part of the X-Factor. She has released a statement in which says “I have always loved the brand and have always wanted to say the iconic phrase ‘because you’re worth it’ so to be given that opportunity is absolutely amazing.” The Geordie singer is said to earn a reported £500,000 from her one year contract.

Previous famous faces for L’Oreal include Jennifer Anniston, Jane Fonda and Beyonce. Cheryl Cole is the first British female to front the brand since Kate Moss was signed up in 1998.
