Just when Kanye West was beginning to think he didn’t have a friend left in the world, in marches Lady Ga Ga. The Paparazzi singer has jumped to aid of the hip hop star after the music world turned on him after an incident at the MTV Music Video Awards last month. The problems all erupted after Kanye interrupted the acceptance speech of Taylor Swift as after she picked up the gong for best video. Kanye, a little worse for wear, commandeered the microphone and announced that Beyonce was rightful winner of the award in his eyes.

However, even Beyonce didn’t agree with Kanye and so started the celeb backlash. Music stars like Pink and Kelly Clarkson issued statements through their blogs and Twitter slamming Kanye’s actions. Even a grovelling apology from the man himself wasn’t enough to lay the matter to rest.

Now Lady Ga Ga has stepped in to defend his honour. The pair are about to embark on a joint-headlining tour this month. Ga Ga, who was in the audience at the time believes everyone is being “unfair” to judge the rap star over one mistake.

Speaking to the press ahead of the tour Lady Ga Ga went on to say, “I can tell you that he’s very sorry, and he made a mistake, and he knows that.” She also added we shouldn’t overlook Kanye’s talent and the huge contribution he has made to music during his career as she said: “Everyone likes to focus on gossip, but he’s changed music and he’s really prolific and an incredible person, and I think it’s unfair to judge somebody on one mistake they’ve made.”
