Sophie Anderton reveals all in TV interview
Former model Sophie Anderton admitted in an interview with Jeremy Kyle yesterday that she “probably did” bed strangers in exchange for money. The reason for her shameful behaviour was that she was harbouring a serious drug addiction. At the peak of her cocaine habit in 2004 she would spend £250 on the drug which ended up running her financially leaving her bankrupt.
The 32-year-old party girl revealed all in an honest interview with the chat show host on his morning programme. She described herself as being very “promiscuous” at the time and that she would often sleep with men, only to forget their name the following morning. Her reason for this was her cocaine habit as she said “That’s what drugs do to you.”
Although Sophie has been clean for 2 years, the road to recovery is a rocky one. When asked by Jeremy if she would accept cocaine if he put it in front of her she bravely admitted that she would, saying “I’m not strong enough yet.”
The scale of her problem became apparent to the public after she was caught in 2007 offering sex to an undercover journalist in exchange for money. Her reputation and career suffered a massive blow after the incident however Sophie revealed that it was her mother’s words which gave her the wake up call she needed. The Love Island contestant said she was “shook up” after her mum told her she wouldn’t allow her to die before she did.
Sophie appeared on the Jeremy Kyle show as part of a celebrity special which took a look at the issues behind the headlines. Other guests on the show included Big Brother contestant Niki Graham and glamour model Jodie Marsh.
