Limo thief flees from scene of the crime completely naked

A car-jacker who stole a hummer limousine at gunpoint in California, US over the weekend attempted to make an unusual getaway after being pursued by police, making a run from the limo completely naked.

The theft of the hummer H2 limo was reported by the chauffeur of the car who told police the robber had taken the hummer from him at gunpoint at 8pm in Irvine, California this weekend. A police chase ensued, with the authorities pursuing the stolen limo in cars and also with the help of a police helicopter.

According to the driver of the hummer, the thief was fully clothed when he stole the vehicle, however he must have removed his clothes during the police chase as by the time he slowed down and bailed out of the hummer attempting to flee on foot, the robber wasn’t wearing a single item of clothing.

The moment the as-yet-unidentified thief rolled out of the limo and made away from the police on foot naked was captured by the police cameras from the helicopter hovering above. The fact the man was naked probably didn’t do him any favours as a German Shepherd police dog tackled the thief to the floor, bringing him down and holding onto him with its jaws until two police officers arrived and handcuffed the man.

The naked limo thief was taken into custody, although the police say it’s still not known why the robber chose to strip off his clothes while making his getaway in the hummer limousine.

hummer-H3

A 19-year-old student from Michigan has been arrested amid claims he ran over a duck and four ducklings in a McDonalds car park, killing the animals.

Dillon Pearce attended the drive through restaurant in his hummer vehicle with a group of friends. One McDonalds employee claims that one of the group attempted to pick up a duckling, and the fast food worker had to tell them to stop.

It’s then alleged that the group moved to another car park to eat their fast food, before driving back into the McDonalds car park and running over the ducklings.

The mother duck and approximately eight ducklings were said to be nesting under a bush in the fast food restaurant’s car park.

However the lawyer acting in defence of the 19-year-old says his client did not intend to mow down the ducklings in his hummer, and was in fact trying to save them from other motorists. According to his defence lawyer, Dillon Pearce was unaware he had crushed the ducklings with his hummer, and the first he knew about the incident was when the police approached him at a nearby gas station.

The Pearce’s lawyer denies that the incident was a deliberate act and states that the college student does in fact, care about animals.

Seized hummer limo used in anti-gang campaign in Canada

police-hummer-canada

A hummer limousine seized from a drugs trafficking ring in Victoria, Canada, last year is now being used as part of an anti-gang campaign in the region.

In line with its new role as a vehicle to raise awareness of organised crime, the hummer H2 has been re-painted with anti-gang slogans such as “This vehicle was seized from a drugs trafficker” and “Gang life is a dead life” so as to get the message across to youngsters and potential criminals that a life of organised crime doesn’t pay.

The hummer limo was confiscated from a trio of drugs traffickers last year in the Victoria area of Canada along with a BMW vehicle, guns, and thousands of pounds in cash.

Usually all assets seized from criminals are sold and the money used to support crime prevention, however the authorities took a different stance with this case, and decided the hummer could be put to better use on the streets raising awareness of the problem of organised crime in the region.

For the next two years, the impressive hummer limousine will be used as part of “Operation Reclaim” which is an anti-gang educational program. The hummer will act as a moving billboard, spreading its message at schools, colleges and events across the Greater Victoria region of Canada.

Check prom limos are licensed warn councils

prom-1

Check your school prom is properly licensed, that’s the warning being issued to school head teachers and parents ahead of the upcoming prom season.

Last year spot checks on limousines and chauffeurs were carried out up and down the country, with a number of unlicensed operators being uncovered. As well as uncovering unlicensed drivers and limos, the on the spot checks also found that some companies were providing onboard alcohol to under 18’s.

Since October 2009, all limos carrying over 8 passengers must carry a special Certificate of Initial Fitness (COIF) licence. So if you’re planning to hire a large hummer vehicle or party buss for example, you’d be well advised to check with your limo hire company to clarify whether or not your prom vehicle carries a COIF licence.

As well as special licenses for limos carrying over 8 passengers, in 2006 it became a legal requirement for all limos used for public hire to carry a licence.

Local councils also issue licences for limo chauffeurs to ensure all drivers have the correct licence to driver a limousine and that they are physically fit. In addition to this, the council will also screen all drivers using the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous convictions.

The advice being given to anyone planning to hire a limo for the prom season is to book with a reputable company, and to ask for proof that both the limo and the chauffeur are properly licensed.

The Metropolitan Police Department of Indianapolis have welcomed a hummer limousine to their fleet of police vehicles.

The hummer H2 limo was seized from a drug dealer, and now following a revamp, the vehicle is being used to raise awareness of the police force and to help during recruitment promotions.

The white hummer H2 was originally seized by police back in 2008. The hummer was part of forfeited property which was then awarded to the police force via the courts. As the 2003 model was still in excellent working order, the decision was made to keep hummer for promotional use by the IMPD.
