Rolls Royce limos for Jackson's funeral
Last week Michael Jackson’s body was finally laid to rest in a private ceremony at Glendale’s Forest Lawn Memorial Park just outside of Los Angeles. The singer’s family were driven to the sombre event in a fleet of chauffeur driven Rolls Royce Phantom limos.
The King of Pop’s excellent reputation ensured his family benefitted from having the stretch limos hired at a heavily discounted rate showing that his good name and generous nature is still remembered. His children, Prince Michael aged 12, Paris aged 11 and Blanket aged 7 travelled in the blacked out Rolls Royce limos along with Michael’s parents and his Jackson siblings.
Over 200 mourners attended the private ceremony and it took a 31-car motorcade to transport the whole group which included the actress and close friend of Jackson, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley, and former child star Macaulay Culkin. Notable absentees were the singer and confidante of Jackson, Diana Ross and his other ex-wife and mother of two of his children, Debbie Rowe.
It was reported that the Jackson brothers acted as pallbearers and Gladys Knight sang a version of The Lord’s Prayer during the ceremony. Michael’s three children are also believed to have each written a note for their father which they lay next to his coffin. The Baptist Minister Rev Al Sharpton, who has been a great source of comfort to the family during this sad time, conducted the funeral ceremony.
