Personal items including a book containing lyrics for her upcoming third album and Amy Winehouse’s favourite guitar are thought to have been stolen from the singer’s home in the days after her untimely death on July 23rd.

It is thought that only a handful of people, some 20 individuals, have had access to the Rehab singer’s home in Camden North London since she was found dead at the property at the end of last month. Those who have been inside the property include police, friends and family of the star.

A source told the press that the family are “sick with shock” after discovering the disappearance of the items which were so personal to the singer. Officially the police have registered the theft of two books containing lyrics written by the 27-year-old before her death, believed to have been intended for use on her new album. Reports suggest other property is also missing including a much loved guitar belonging to Amy, and also unreleased tracks and letters.

Amy’s family are away on holiday as they try to come to terms with their loss. It’s been reported that Amy’s father, former cabbie Mitch, is planning to give the person responsible for removing the items from her home the chance to do the right thing and return the property. Mitch and Amy’s on/off boyfriend Reg Travis, who has joined the family on holiday, are due to compile an inventory of items in the late singer’s home when they return from their break.

Amy Winehouse takes a tumble

Amy Winehouse stayed overnight at a London clinic following her fall

Amy Winehouse reportedly spent the night in a Harley Street Clinic over the weekend after taking a tumble at her North London flat.

The Back to Black singer, who is rumoured to be back together with her ex-husband Blake Fielder Civil, injured her ribs and suffered a bruise to her forehead after the drunken fall.

26-year-old Amy attended the same clinic where she underwent a breast enhancement 7 months ago. According to some newspaper reports the singer also injured her surgically enhanced breast in the fall, however a spokesperson for the star has denied this claim.

Other patients staying at the high end clinic reported seeing the singer acting drunkenly in the hospital and being asked to calm down by staff as she was running about in a drunken state. She was later taken to a room where she was monitored for concussion.

Despite her hospital trip over the weekend, for the singer it was business as usual this week after she turned out to support her father Mitch at a special performance. The London cabbie is launching a music career and will release his debut album in June. Father and daughter performed a duet at the gig in London much to the delight of the crowd.

Amy Winehouse who’s become almost as famous for her crazy antics whilst under the influence as for her music, stunned guests at her father Mitch’s birthday party recently by turning up stone cold sober. The Rehab singer was a model daughter for the night as she mingled politely with guests and happily signed autographs during the bash at Trent Park Golf Club in North London.

The 26-year-old singer songwriter even managed to hold it together to give a polished performance at her old man’s party. Her cabbie father has stood by her through all of her troubles, and she paid tribute to him by performing a rendition of happy birthday and a collection of her hits during the night.

Amy’s goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield who is signed to her record label Lioness Records, also took to the stage to give a special birthday performance in honour of Mitch. The 13-year-old, who recently burst on to the music scene with her debut album, revealed she may be in line to become a support act to her godmother late next year after she turns 14.

However Amy Winehouse’s new found sobriety may not be a miracle. It later emerged that a channel 4 television crew were present at the party as they are filming Mitch for a documentary. Although the Back To Black singer may have enjoyed her stint off the pop and we could be looking at a new and improved Amy Winehouse ready for the New Year?

The BBC have confirmed that troubled singer Amy Winehouse will perform on Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday. However the star seems to be easing herself back into the spotlight as she won’t be the main attraction on the hit BBC1 show. Instead she will be singing backing vocals to support her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield’s, debut TV performance.

Amy is a big supporter of 13-year-old Dionne and has even signed her to her own music label, Lioness Records. The talented youngster will perform a cover of the 1961 hit for The Shirelles, Mama Said, with her famous godmother helping her out with backing vocals.

It’s a massive coup for the aspiring singer who will benefit from the huge boost in her profile just in time for the release of her debut album which features a string of covers featuring soul hits such as Tell Him and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. Amy has been heavily involved in the making of the record also providing vocal support on a number of the tracks.

Dionne and Amy share a close relationship with the 13-year-old describing her as being “like my sister.” Ahead of the forthcoming performance Dionne admitted that the pair of them are big fans of Strictly with the youngster admitting to never missing show.

Amy has spoken in glowing terms about her goddaughter highlighting her unique talent saying: “The first time I heard Dionne sing, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing – such an amazing voice from such a young girl.”

Following a turbulent few years whilst Winehouse has endured a public battle with drug and alcohol addiction and gone through a divorce, we’ve seen very little of the Rehab singer. Aside from an impromptu appearance at the V Festival alongside another band, Amy has spent the last 12 months in St Lucia writing material for her eagerly awaited new album.
