Nine college friends of a bride who tied the knot in Malaysia last month decided to create a very thoughtful wedding present for the 27-year-old on her big day.

Bride-to-be Li Xin-yi was completely blown away when her friends presented her with a wedding car which the group had personalised by covering it entirely in photos of the happy couple.

The friends all met eight years ago while studying at the Equator Academy of Art in Malaysia and have been a close-knit group ever since. When the 27-year-old revealed her plans to wed her long-term partner, 29-year-old Li Zheng-rong before Christmas, the group decided they wanted to commemorate the special occasion with a memorable gift.

The nine wedding guests stayed up until 3am on the morning of the wedding to put the final touches to the extra special wedding car. The Toyota Rav was transformed into a moving scrapbook after the friends got busy sticking photographs of the bride and groom over ever surface of the car. It’s estimated it took over 500 photographs to completely cover the car.

As well as the specially created picture wedding car, the bride’s father also hired two vintage wedding cars especially for the big day, both of which were over 70 years old and classic vehicles.

UK based limo hire company, Limo Broker, is currently offering special deals on both classic and modern wedding car hire for bookings in 2011 so get in touch to learn more. Limo Broker reveals classic wedding cars are the most popular choice for brides and grooms in 2010

Classic wedding cars in high demand for weddings in 2010 say Limo Broker

Premier limousine hire provider, Limo Broker, have revealed that classic and vintage wedding cars have proved the most popular choice of wedding day transport for brides and grooms tying the knot in 2010.

Limo Broker provides chauffeur driven wedding car hire all over the UK and say that although vintage rides have always been a popular choice for weddings, demand for classic wedding cars this year has been bigger than ever. The luxury transport operator organises thousands of bookings for wedding cars during the peak wedding season of July and August and say that their vintage cars were the first vehicles to book out in almost every region of the country.

The trend for vintage themed weddings may have played a role in the overwhelming demand for these classic rides. Many brides are opting for a wedding which takes its inspiration from a bygone era not only as a style choice, before also because of economic reasons.

Vintage wedding dresses are cheaper than buying new, and hiring a classic car for your ride to the wedding will set you back less than a seat in the latest Rolls Royce Phantom on your wedding day. Given the recent economic downturn, money is tighter than ever so brides and grooms are eager to keep the cost of their wedding as low as possible, without comprising on style or quality.

Check out Limo Broker’s gallery of classic wedding cars for more information of these elegant wedding vehicles. The 1960’s Princess Car in white never fails to draw admiring glances wherever it goes, while the open-top Beauford is perfect for sunny summer weddings, choose your vintage ride of choice by clicking on the following link http://www.limobroker.co.uk/classic-wedding-cars/

Bride faced prospect of walking to church as roads impassable for vintage wedding cars

Icy roads meant bride faced prospect of cancelling her vintage wedding car and walking to church

Icy roads meant bride faced prospect of cancelling her vintage wedding car and walking to church

Bride-to-be Alison Welsh from County Durham faced the daunting prospect of walking to the church on her wedding day after the roads around her family home became impassable due to heavy snow fall and ice.

Although 29-year-old Alison was due to tie the knot to fiancé Charlie Collins at a church half a mile away, because the roads nearby had not been gritted, they were in a treacherous condition. No vehicles had been able to get close to the house for days, this also posed another problem as other wedding related deliveries such as florists, and hairdressers would also face difficulties trying to reach the bride.

The bride had booked two exquisite vintage wedding cars for the big day. One of which was a Rolls Royce, and the other, an Austin Princess wedding car. Alison and her father had been due to travel in one, whilst the bridesmaids were scheduled to arrive in the other.

However these carefully constructed plans looked liked being thwarted by the severe weather, with Alison facing the possibility of walking to church.

The bride put out a plea in the local area for a 4×4 vehicle to get her to the church on time. The council also stepped into help after hearing of Alison’s plight and said they’d do all they could to make the roads around her home passable so as to allow the vintage wedding cars access.
