PG Bugatti bicycle on sale for £39,000
Said to have reimagined the humble bicycle, the PG Bugatti bike is nothing short of fantastic, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Having to justify its price tag of £39,000 for the standard model, Bugatti have since revealed that a fully customised bike would set the purchaser back a whopping £69,000.
Created by PG with the help of luxury car brand, Bugatti, the car is said to be the world’s lightest urban bicycle, weighing less than 5kg. As with Bugatti’s cars, the bikes are very much limited editions, capturing the attention of bike enthusiasts across the globe. With only 667 being built, many are viewing buying one of these bikes as an investment, expecting the price to go in the future.
PG’s CEO Manuel Ostner says: “We had the vision of building the ultimate bicycle to go with the ultimate car; ultimate in design, workmanship and performance.
“That is why we are very happy that Bugatti supports this vision, and we are proud to be able to use the name of this extraordinary brand for our product.”
Achim Anscheidt, director of design at Bugatti, says: “We liked PG’s idea of building a bicycle in the spirit of our company founder, Ettore Bugatti, who also designed a bike.
“The goal of developing a high-tech product using the newest and finest materials for lightweight construction which, on top of that, was to bear our brand, convinced us to develop the bike’s design together with PG and to suggest formal ideas.”
