Lindsay Lohan should be in rehab says her father

Lindsay Lohan's father claims the actress is addicted to prescription drugs

Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, has called upon the law to intervene in the actress’s life to prevent her from dying from drug addiction like other Hollywood celebrities.

Michael Lohan sent a letter to the judge presiding over the Mean Girl actress’s driving under the influence case. The letter, which is written by Michael’s solicitor Lisa Bloom and was leaked to a showbiz new website, calls for tighter restrictions on Lindsay to help curb her alleged drug habit.

In August 2007 Lindsay pleaded guilty to cocaine use driving under the influence and was given 3 years probation. Michael Lohan maintains that his daughter is addicted to prescription drugs and in his letter to the official, recommends a treatment facility in New York which the 23-year-old could attend in an attempt to combat the alleged problem.

The letter goes on to call the alcohol education sessions that Lindsay is required to attend as part of her probation as “insufficient” and suggests that the court should, “order Lindsay to be subject to frequent, random, court ordered drug testing; that Lindsay be subjected to random searches of her home and person by law enforcement; and that Lindsay’s probation be extended for an additional term of years to continue her period of court supervision.”

Michael claims to be acting in Lindsay’s best interests saying it is “painful” for him to make the requests of the court, but adds the grim alternative of his daughter becoming the next “Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson , or Anna Nicole Smith” is far worse.
