The exclusive supercar is written off after groom crashes on way to wedding
33-year-old David Gallucci couldn’t believe his luck when a £250, 000 Lamborghini rolled up on his driveway to take him to the church on his wedding day. The surprise was organised by his soon to be wife, Abi Pattison-Hart, who’d paid £8,000 to hire the exclusive car of which there are only a few hundred in existence in the world.
As the groom and the best man made the 15minute journey to the church near Bradford, the supercar skidded on a roundabout causing the groom to loose control. At this point the car flew onto a grass verge and flipped over, smashing through a fence.
Although both passengers emerged from the wreckage unharmed, the wedding car was another matter entirely. The crash had caused £160,000 worth of damage to the yellow Murcielago model and it had to be written off.
The groom decided to conceal the truth from his bride until after the ceremony. £5,000 out of the £8,000 fee to hire the car was to cover the insurance excess, which the couple lost as a result of the accident.
Luckily the incident didn’t ruin the newlywed’s day, and the bride seemed to take the whole situation in her stride saying, “I had to see the funny side.”
