Glasto 2009 to be “one of the best”
Next year’s Glastonbury Festival will be “one of the best” ever held, according to organisers.
Festival organiser Michael Eavis could barely hide his excitement as he commented on the first round of ticket sales, which took place this weekend.
He said: “It’s really exciting that people are still remembering one of the best festivals we’ve ever held and are clearly already looking forward to the next one.
“June saw the most diverse audience for ten years or so, and hopefully this new fairer ticket system will mean that we have a great crowd again in 2009.”
Ticket sales have also to live up to this high billing, leaving little better incentive for music fans to book their place and car hire to the legendary summer festival.
More than half of the 137,500 available tickets had been sold or reserved by the end of Sunday for next year’s five-day festival, which will take place between June 24th and 28th.
Remaining tickets will go on sale from April 5th 2009.
