Former mechanic celebrates 100th birthday in style with limo hire

Exemplifying the growing popularity of cheap limo hire, a former mechanic has celebrated his 100th birthday by booking a limo hire to take him around Edinburgh.

Robert McMillan, the youngest and sole survivor of seven children, commemorated 100 years by taking a chauffeur-driven limo hire that drove him around locations from his youth and those that held sentimental value to him. The tour included the iconic Granton Harbour.

Mr McMillan, born 6 June 1912, was employed by Cooperative Motor Group at the age of fifteen until he finally retired at the age of 65.

During the Second World War, Mr McMillan served his country as a mechanic for two and a half years with the Royal Engineers.

In 1933, Mr McMillan met his wife Agnes and they were married in 1939, going on to spend 69 happy years together.

Mr McMillan’s niece, Joan Gunn, explained how the couple were inseparable: “He and his wife did everything together, they toured all over Scotland – he was always very keen on his car, he took good care of it and it shone like a beacon.”

It was only fitting that Mr McMillan celebrate his 100th birthday by booking a luxury chauffeur-driven limo hire to drive him to all the lspots where he’d built special memories. As limo hire becomes more affordable, people from all walks of life now have the option to book a limo hire to add sparkle to their special occasions. Limo hires are a popular option not just for weddings but also school proms, hen and stag parties, airport transfers, and sightseeing.
