Sugababes get the boot from Jay-Z’s record label

The new Sugababe line-up have reportedly been dropped from Roc-A-Fella Records

The new Sugababe line-up have reportedly been dropped from Roc-A-Fella Records

After the latest album Sweet 7 released earlier this month failed to make the top 10, the Sugababes have reportedly been dropped from Jay-Z’s record label ending their dreams of a career in the US.

Reports suggest that the band singed a 3-record deal with Roc-A-Fella Records last year, however a spokesperson for the Sugababes has come out recently to say that the girls were never signed to the label.

Sweet 7 was the Sugababe’s 7th studio album and their first record to be released under the new line-up. The only original member of the band, Keisha Buchanan was replaced by Eurovision song singer, Jade Ewen last September.

However the latest offering from the Sugababes Sweet 7, has not proved popular. It Charted originally at number 14 before dropping to number 37, and leaving the top 40 completely within a couple of weeks.

In a strange twist of fate Roc-A-Fella Records, who are said to be referring to the Sugababes as “former clients” are now said to be looking into the possibility of signing up the rejected band member Keisha. A source close to the singer says she will be flying out to the US soon to start work on her solo album with the record label.

School prom limo chauffeurs to be faced with rigorous checks

Licensing officers in the South Staffordshire area plan to attend each prom being held in the district over the summer in order to access that every chauffeur is properly licensed to be carrying prom-goers.

The move comes after a number of complaints were made last year in regards to unlicensed limo hire firms transporting youngsters to schools proms. Concerns were raised about the safety of the school pupils who could end up being transported in an unlicensed limo with a chauffeur who has not been properly checked by authorities.

South Staffordshire council have written to every secondary school in the area to find out where each prom is being held. They plan to send three licensing officers to each venue on prom night to run checks on limos and chauffeurs as they drop off the youngsters at the party.

The chauffeurs must prove that they and the vehicle are correctly licensed with either the council or the Department of Transport. They will also be checking that the limos are carrying the correct number of passengers and that there is no over-loading taking place. From last year only limos which have a COIF certificate are legally allowed to carry over 8 passengers.

The council is also asking for parents to be vigilant and to check their chosen limo firm is correctly licensed before making a school prom booking.

Limo Broker launches wedding car rental brokerage website

Cheap deals on wedding cars available through Limo Broker's new website

The UK’s leading limo hire provider, Limo Broker ( http://www.limobroker.co.uk/), has just unveiled its latest venture. WeddingCarHire.co.uk is the most recent addition to this burgeoning company’s portfolio which will provide unbeatable wedding transport deals throughout the UK, using a sophisticated brokerage system.

The brand new wedding car hire website (http://www.weddingcarhire.co.uk/) offers superb value for money for couples searching for luxurious, but affordable, wedding transport in the UK. The introduction of the new service couldn’t be more timely, as more and more people are shopping around on comparison websites to ensure they get the very best deal on their desired service.

Limo Broker paid a premium for the rights to the domain name weddingcarhire.co.uk but they believe the gamble is already starting to pay off. With the peak wedding season fast approaching, the company are already reporting that popular dates during July and August are fully booked.

Managing Director of both companies, Tej Randeva, says he was keen to offer a chauffeur-driven transport service dedicated to weddings, as he explained: “We have been providing wedding car hire through Limo Broker (http://www.limobroker.co.uk/pages/limo-hire/wedding-cars/index.htm) for years, however we felt it was important to offer these customers a complete service geared specifically to wedding day transport.”

With weddingcarhire.co.uk already reporting a surge in bookings for wedding transport this year, the company is looking to expand its wedding car agent list as it is currently struggling to keep up with demand. Any wedding car hire operators running a top quality fleet of vehicles based anywhere in the UK are urged to get in touch. Working in conjunction with this ambitious company could be the boost your business needs.

With the new service well under way and already displaying promising signs, Mr Randeva is very positive about the future of the company: “Weddingcarhire.co.uk will strive to ensure that every bride and groom who travel with us receives a service which is nothing short of perfect, and with our extensive experience in the industry, we’re adamant we can deliver.”

BBC Bosses under fire for chauffeur driven limo hire bill

The full extent of the cost of chaffeurs and limos for BBC bosses is revealed

BBC bosses have come under fire after it was revealed that the corporation had paid out £500,000 over the course of two-years for chauffeur driven limo hire for 4 of its top earners.

The hefty bill is on top of the £14 million which the BBC pays out each year in taxi fares for its employees. The Sun newspaper revealed the full extent of the cost of cars for BBC staff after it made a request using the Freedom of Information Act.

The £500,000 which was paid out for the chauffeur driven cars was not taken out of the 6-figure salaries which each of the 4 BBC bosses takes home. The limo bill covers the cost of the chauffeur, fuel for the vehicle, and the price for hiring the limo.

The Beeb have now received criticism from the Taxpayer’s Alliance who say these perks should be reduced during this time when most people in the UK are struggling as a result of the economic downturn.

However a BBC spokesperson has defended the use of license free payer’s money to pay for the chauffeur driven cars. It is argued that the bosses in question use the vehicles as “workstations” enabling them to prepare for meetings and keep in touch with colleagues whilst in transit.

X-Factor winner Joe McElderry finds 2 fans hidden in his chauffeur driven car

Fanatical fans of Joe conceal themselves in the boot of his car for three hours

Two excitable fans who watched the X-Factor winner Joe McElderry perform on the live X-Factor tour in Aberdeen this week just couldn’t bear to see him go; so they hid in the boot of his chauffeur driven 4×4 for three hours.

The two female fans were desperate to meet their idol and to get an autograph to they decided to take drastic action by distracting the chauffeur and concealing themselves in the boot of the car. The 4×4 is Joe’s designated car for the tour which is currently showing at a whole host of venues across the UK.

The girls remained hidden in the boot for three hours whilst the X-Factor winner enjoyed a celebratory drink with crew members after the gig.

According to a source, 15 minutes into Joe’s journey back to his hotel he was alerted to the girl’s presence in the boot when he heard giggling. The X-Factor winner was said to have been “stunned – not to mention a little freaked out” to find the two girls concealed in the boot.

However smuggling themselves in the boot of the 4×4 seemed to work a treat as kind-hearted Geordie Joe was more than happy to sign autographs for them and ensured they got home safely after their adventure.
