One of the most talked-about and provocative productions of recent times, The Vagina Monologues will appear at the Birmingham Hippodrome on May 12th.

The show is based on the series of ‘Vagina Interviews’ conducted by feminist playwright Eve Ensler in the mid-1990s, which explored the experiences of ordinary women in relation to this specific part of their anatomy.

As a series of monologues, the show was first performed by Ensler herself before it was recast with celebrity participants.

It has since gone from strength to strength and has been performed around the world with a host of famous names lending their voices, including Teri Hatcher, Whoopi Goldberg and Kate Winslet.

This current UK production sees the likes of Linda Robson, Tamara Beckwith, Jennifer Ellison and Jenny Eclair perform the moving and thought-provoking monologues which should have theatre-goers from across the region travelling by car hire to see this important piece.
