The Grand National, arguably the country’s most famous horse race, will set pulses racing early this April at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.

This event has something for everyone, from those who can’t resist the lure of having a punt on an exciting tip to people who admire the beauty of a horse in full flow, as well anyone who just really likes hats.

From April 2nd to 4th, the finest thoroughbreds will be on display, along with the classiest of fashion and, of course, champagne will be flowing for all.

Much of the Grand National’s mystique is perhaps created by the fact that it has been running since 1839 and still manages to pull in the punters of all ages and backgrounds.

For anyone unfamiliar with the event, it is known as the one horse race which even the most reluctant of gamblers will be tempted to have a flutter on.

While there is no official dress code, many choose to pull out all the stops with their choice of attire, meaning limousine hire will be preferable for travelling to the event.

Edinburgh food festival changes venues

A top food festival in Edinburgh has had to change venues because of fears over damage to a beauty spot.

Taste of Edinburgh will no longer take place in the Meadows, in the centre of the city, and will now move to Inverleith Park.

Running from May 28th to May 31st, the event is televised by Channel Four and drew in crowds of roughly 25,000 last year.

However, these large numbers have been blamed for causing damage to the Meadows area.

Steve Cardownie, the city council’s festivals and events champion, told the Scotsman: “We are looking at ways of improving the balance of events across the city parks to maintain their beauty while ensuring that Edinburgh continues to offer a fantastic range of top events.

“Taste of Edinburgh’s willingness to move the festival will be of great benefit to the recovery of the Meadows after two particularly wet summers.”

Food fans who do not live near the new venue should consider car hire as a way of getting to the event. Check out Limo Broker’s huge fleet of luxury limos which are available for hire in the Edinburgh area at a very low rate. Arrive at the food festival in a stylish limo and enjoy your day to the full.

Stars to come out at the Baftas

This year’s Bafta ceremony will take place at the Royal Opera House in London on February 8th and is sure to bring in some of the world’s biggest stars, all taken to the event by chauffeur driven limo hire.

Big names such as Kiera Knightley and Sienna Miller were in attendance last year, along with Harry Potter, or as he’s otherwise known Daniel Radcliffe.

Nominations for best film include the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, starring Brad Pitt, and Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Brit Danny Boyle but set in Mumbai, India.

The latter is also in the running for outstanding British film, along with gangster flick In Bruges and a number of others.

Kate Winslet will also be looking to keep up her winning streak, although she will have to beat herself – she’s nominated twice for best actress.

Exactly who will win will not be known until the night, but expect a good showing for British interests, who will hopefully go on and do just as well at the Oscars later in the year.

The best of bark at Crufts in Birmingham

Birmingham’s NEC will once again play host to the world-famous Crufts dog show.

The event celebrates the canine, in a variety of disciplines such as behaviour and grooming.

From March 5th to 8th the creme-de-la-creme of pedigree creatures will be present, numbering more than 20,000 – making it the biggest dog show on the planet, as well as the most well-known.

Of course the different breeds all get their individual competitions, and this is a great opportunity to see mutts you never knew existed, as well as see how good your dog could look with the right grooming.

Named after its creator Charles Cruft, the exhibition began in 1891 at the Royal Agricultural Hall in Islington.

Mr Cruft helped with the promotion of the dog section at the Paris Exhibition in the 1880s and took his new skills back to London to begin Crufts.

Visitors can make sure they arrive in as much style and sophistication as the pampered pups on show by booking limo hire for the event.

Scooby-Doo comes to Norwich

An international superstar is set to hit Norwich next month – and he’s taking his friends along with him too.

Norwich’s Theatre Royal will play host to Scooby-Doo and the Pirate Ghost from February 17th to 21st, with tickets costing from £10.

Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred will all be present, as the team tramp about a tropical island, being bothered by the usual ghosts and goblins.

In this case, it’s the Pirate Queen and her crew that is causing Scoob to quiver.

This show offers a great opportunity to enjoy the legend of Scooby-Doo in real life, as well as giving them the chance to unmask the villain.

So who knows – they might just be the pesky kids without who the bad guys would have gotten away with it.

While the actual Mystery Machine might not be on hand, audiences can definitely make a splash at the venue if they arrive in hummer limos. Luckily we have a massive selection to choose from in a variety of attention grabbing colours, check out our fleet of hummers now and find your ideal ride to Norwich.
