Funny men out in force for laughter awards
Bo Selecta's Leigh Francis won the TV's Funniest Man award at this year's Lafta comedy awards, held last night, October 2nd.
The comic received the accolade for his portrayal of alter ego Keith Lemon at Loaded magazine's annual ceremony.
Harry Enfield also had every reason to celebrate on his car hire ride home having been handed the Legend award for his long and successful career in comedy.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Carr picked up his fifth Lafta gong for Best Stand-up comedian.
According to Loaded editor Martin Daubney, the awards showed the country still had a good sense of humour.
He said: "This year's Laftas proves yet again that comedy is the lifeblood of Britain.
"From legends such as Harry Enfield to shows like My Name Is Earl the UK loves to laugh."
However, the Joker gong went to wildcard nominee Boris Johnson, who was elected mayor of London earlier this year.
The blond-mopped politician pipped canoe fraudsters John and Anne Darwin and TV presenter Fern Britton to the less-than-flattering accolade.
