Tiger Woods to apologise publically

Golf star Tiger to issue an apology

Golf star Tiger Woods is to make a public appearance to apologise for his recent infidelities during a meeting in Florida tomorrow his agent has announced.

Only a select group of friends, colleagues, reporters, and 3 news channels will be present at the appearance. Tiger’s agent has stressed that this is not a press call and that the golfer will not be answering questions from the media.

Speaking through his agent, the 34-year-old golfer is said to feel the need to apologise to his fans and those close to him who may have felt “hurt and let down” by his behaviour. Although he added that the matter is fundamentally between him and his wife, Tiger wants to draw a line under the whole sex scandal and move on, and issuing a public apology is a positive step in this direction.

The sportsman, who is married to Swedish model Elin Nordgen, is said to be working hard behind the scenes to try and his marriage in light of the extramarital affairs. The couple have two young children between them.

Tiger is currently taking a break from the professional world of golfing whilst he concentrates on his private life. There has been no official word from the golfer himself since the news broke about his multiple affairs back in November of last year.

Car Hire in South Africa receives a boost from the upcoming Football World Cup

The car hire industry in South Africa has noted an upturn in its fortunes of late. A successful festive period coupled with the upcoming football World Cup has meant that car hire companies are starting to turn the corner following the economic crisis which blighted the industry last year.

The Christmas holiday season proved a very good time for the car hire companies operating in South Africa, with a big increase in bookings noted, especially around coastal areas. One car rental firm said that they were so overwhelmed with demand for their cars, that at one point, they completely ran out of vehicles.

The figures speak for themselves. The chef executive at Europcar South Africa says there has been a marked rise in the number of tourists visiting the country. Although the figures are not up to the level they were before the economic downturn hit, they are considerably higher than this time last year. Also the domestic leisure industry reported a 12% increase during this Christmas period which is another encouraging sign.

The upcoming Football World Cup is another contributory factor towards the increase in car hire bookings. The world famous event is due to descend upon South Africa this summer bringing thousands of football fans with it. Car hire companies have noted a surge in bookings for this time as the games draw closer. Some firms have vowed to add new vehicles to their fleet of hire cars on order to cope with demand when the World Cup comes to town.

Footie fans who leave limos outside Arsenal Stadium could be served with ASBOs

Parking you limo outside the Emirates Stadium could leave you with an ASBO

Council officials want to clamp down on the number of rich Arsenal fans who leave their stretch limos in side streets outside the Emirates Stadium by issuing them with ASBOs.

The problem has got so bad that as many as 40 luxury limousines have been cramming up the small streets around the area in Holloway on match days. Often chauffeurs are left to sit inside the vehicle with the engine running for the entire match, much to the annoyance of local residents.

However after a decision was made at a recent council meeting, officials are hoping to use Anti Social Behaviour Orders to prohibit limo companies from parking on the small streets. The ASBOs would be issued to “companies whose vehicles are responsible for this selfish, environmentally unfriendly, and dangerous behaviour”.

Arsenal club officials and players all have their own parking spaces inside the ground so the nuisance limos are said to belong to wealthy fans, and corporate guests who usually watch the match from a box. When you hire a box, you are also given a parking space, however some fans are reluctant to use the space as the vehicles are not allowed to leave the ground until the roads are open again, an hour after the match ends. Alternatively, if a limo is parked outside, they can leave immediately.

In the past the council has tried to combat this problem by issuing parking tickets but this has not proved an effective deterrent as the limo owners are so wealthy that the cost of parking fine hardly registers.

The council is now investigating whether they can legally hand out ASBO’s to offending limo drivers.

US limo chauffeur left to clear up after drunken baseball star’s antics

baseball star Sean West in trouble with limo chauffeur

A US limo hire chauffeur from Philadelphia is furious after one of the biggest rising stars of baseball, Marlin’s pitcher Sean West, fled from his luxury limo after one of the many women he was escorting threw up in the back of his stretch. Unfortunately for the baseball player, the limo chauffeur known as Big Penny, is a fearsome man and he’s none too pleased with him.

According to Big Penny the Marlin’s player from Miami sought refuge in the back of his limo after starting a fight at popular Philadelphia nightspot, G Lounge. He managed to run the gauntlet through the group of Philadelphia supporters he’s rubbed up the wrong way and hopped into the back of Big Penny’s waiting limo. Except he didn’t come alone. The baseball star obviously fancies himself as a bit of a ladies man and dragged along not one, not two, but 5 ladies for company.

However it seems his company may have been his downfall as one of the ladies proceeded to vomit all over the back of the expensive limousine. Big Penny stopped the limo to throw the party out after this but smooth talking Sean West managed to persuade the chauffeur against this, assuring him he had “a lot of money” and would compensate him for the mess.

Although once they arrived back at their hotel West did his second disappearing act of the night and went inside the hotel to get some towels and products to help clear up the mess, and never returned.

A word of warning for Sean West, avoid Philadelphia for a while, Big Penny is on the rampage.

American Football NFL clash comes to London

American Football comes to Wembley

American Football comes to Wembley

Following the success of the two previous years, the NFL American Football league is back in London by popular demand. The clash of the titans takes place at the iconic Wembley Stadium on October 25th and if last year was anything to go by, the match will be a complete sell out with 83,000 fans descending upon the city.

Two of the biggest teams will take part in the mid-season clash which will see them fight for the chance to go on to the play-offs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the New England Patriots at the London stadium. Both teams have a blistering track record behind them, between the two teams they’ve won 4 out of the 7 previous Super Bowls. There’s very little between the Buccaneers and the Patriots so the London match is set to be an absolute stormer.

The NFL American Football league enjoys a massive international fan base so the London match is expected to attract sports lovers from all over the U.K as well as Europe. Limited tickets are still available for the match plus some hospitality boxes. Opt for the latter and you’ll be treated to the best seat in the house plus a buffet prior to kick-off and a complimentary bar.

A sporting event of this kind doesn’t come round very often so for the chance see this quintessentially American spectacle complete with cheerleaders, hunky players and hot dog stands, get down to Wembley Stadium this October.

Business is bad for New York limo hire chauffeurs

There was a time when the U.S open tennis tournament meant limo hire drivers in New York could look forward to filling their pockets, but this year the can barely scrape the money together to fill their tanks with petrol let alone make a profit. The slump in the economy and business world is having a serious knock-on effect on the on the limo hire chauffeurs with many of them returning home after a day’s work without having taken a single fare.

New York Limo Hire hits bad patch

New York Limo Hire hits bad patch

A handful of chauffeurs with their sleek black Lincoln Town Cars can be found huddled on the street corner just a stone’s throw from the Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre where the U.S Open is taking place. They wait for the tennis fans to pile out of the stadium after the close of play and hopefully, call upon their services to chauffeur them back to homes or hotels.

However the numbers of these affluent fans has dropped dramatically with many opting to take the train back to Manhattan and giving the limo a miss. As a reflection of how dire the chauffeur business has become, where 10 drivers with their limos would normally be waiting for fares, there are now only 2 or 3 vying for the little work there is.

The 2 week long U.S. Open used to be one of the most lucrative periods for limo hire drivers. When the economy was booming companies would often invite colleagues and business associates along to the top sporting event to enjoy a day on the expense account. Now many of those businesses don’t even exist, and if they do, their belts have been severely tightened meaning limo outings to the tennis are strictly off limits.

A dispatcher for Executive Transportation Group, Larry Liebert, put the situation into context saying: “Last year we probably averaged 100 cars at the Open…this year, it’s probably more like 40 or 50. It’s a microcosm of what’s going on in the city.”

Sex row runner Caster Semenya is a hermaphrodite claims an Aussie paper

Caster Semenya in hermaphrodite claim

Caster Semenya, who has been caught in the middle of a race row after clinching the gold medal for the 800 metres at the World Athletic Championships, has been uncovered as a hermaphrodite an Australian newspaper claims. The news broke yesterday with the paper claiming to have information from a source involved in the medical testing process which revealed the 18-year-old has both male and female organs.

The South African athlete was raised as a female and her family vehemently denied the accusation she was male. They say they are “humiliated” by the way they and Caster have been treated. Her uncle spoke out to say categorically that “this is a woman raised as a female.”

However it has been allegedly revealed that she has 3 times more testosterone in her body compared to that of other females. If this is true she will be advised to undergo surgery as this hormonal imbalance can carry significant health risks. It is also claimed that Caster has no womb or ovaries but does have internal testes – these produce the high level of testosterone found and are also responsible for producing bulk muscle, and a deep voice.

Officials from the World Athletics Federation are urging people to wait for the official results before jumping to a conclusion. If the 18-year-old athlete is confirmed as a hermaphrodite then it is likely she will be stripped of her gold medal.

Not a limo in sight at Gary Lineker’s £400 Italian wedding

No limo at Gary Lineker's wedding

Match of The Day host Gary Lineker married his 30 year old model girlfriend Danielle Bux in a modest ceremony in Italy on Tuesday setting the millionaire back a mere £400. There wasn’t a limo insight, nor a bridesmaid, not even smattering of celebrity guests present as the pair exchanged vows in the low key church service.

However the high profile newlyweds didn’t let the side down when it came to the wedding reception. The lavish event was rumoured to have cost £250,000 and was held at a luxury hotel on the Amalfi coast overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. 50 wedding guests were treated to a 6 course meal with an estimated price tag of £20,000. Celebrity faces amongst the guests included socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and football pundit Alan Hansen.

During the open air reception the wedding party were reported to have been serenaded by an opera singer and a violinist. An onlooker said: “There were speeches, bouquets of pink roses and the setting was absolutely unbelievable.”

The wedding itself took all of 10 minutes with just 2 witnesses present. The ceremony was conducted entirely in Italian with a translator on standby. The bride wore a simple cram dress and the groom went for the super relaxed look and didn’t even wear a tie.

Danielle’s father has since spoken out about his “heartbreak” at not being invited to the wedding. Father and daughter are said have fallen out after Mr Bux let the secret out to the press that Danielle and Gary were engaged.

This is Gary Lineker’s second marriage as he split from his first wife, Michelle Cockayne, in 2006 after almost 20 years of marriage.

Tickets still remain for the other 3 matches which together make up the Autumn International series. Wales will also take on might of Australia and the Samoan and Argentinean team during the month long tournament.

Last year tickets for Wales v New Zealand sold out within an hour, which was a record for the Welsh Rugby Union. The rush came following the smash success of the Welsh Team in 2008 who were reining Grand Slam Champions at the time. The Welsh didn’t disappoint either with an electrifying start to the match which saw the Welsh boys stare down their opponents in the now legendary Haka stand off. The Millennium Stadium has also enjoyed success on its own merit recently having been voted the best rugby stadium in the world by New Zealand rugby magazine, Fortress.

We can offer rugby supporters the opportunity to arrive at the match in the back of a chauffeur driven limo.
