Audi Make Their Mark With $4 million Superbowl Commercial
Today marks the day obsessed with the word ‘Superbowl’. With millions tuning in last night to watch the opening of the great sporting event the carmakers made the most of this opportunity. With Chrysler, Kia and Jaguar all purchasing ad space Audi wanted to create an advert that really stood out.
Superbowl television commercials play a sizeable part in the success such games can influence. With such a great number of viewers brands and providers make it their mission to get a slot in the airing.
Audi did just that, revealing the outcome if you cross a Doberman with a Chihuahua. The advert was centered on the theme of compromise, using the activity of purchasing a breed of dog as an analogy for making a car. The ad progresses the idea that compromising is to be opposed.
“Audi has conceived a never-before-seen creature to show the frightening consequences of bringing compromise into the world,” the car brand says of the new video.
“No computer-generated animals were harmed making this @Audi big game commercial” Sarah McLachlan tweeted after the commercial aired.
It is said that the German carmakers spent a sum of $4 million for the 30-second ad, a pretty steep price tag to say the least.
