Aston Martin V8-powered ready for order
Recently the brand new Aston Martin V8 made its awaited arrival at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but it can now be ordered.
UK drivers are now able to order the V8 power unit which delivers 503bhp and 675Nm, which of course reveals plenty more of the DB11’s sporting character. This is due to its combination of improved efficiency and exceptional performance. The DB11 is set to move from 0-62mph in just 4.0sec due to its superbly designed engine. It can also do a top speed of 187mph. Although, it keeps within the newest asks of fuel efficiency and pollution control, with its CO2 emissions being 230g/km1. It also has a EU Combined fuel economy figure of approximately 28.5mpg1.
“As an engineer, I find the DB11 a fascinating car,” said Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer, Max Szwaj. “One with great depth of character and ability. The V8 is very much its own car. One with a distinct and carefully crafted character that’s truly seductive.”
The qualities of this light, makes an ideal choice to sit next to the V12 engine. The engineering team of this manufacturing company have specifically tailored the V8 engine for its application into the air intake that is the DB11’s exhaust and wet sump lubrication systems.
However, there are small differences in-between the two which includes a dark headlamp, unique alloy wheels and a pair of bonnet vents. Both of these vents come in either black of titanium-finish mesh, also differentiating form which was fitted to the twelve-cylinder variant.
Aston Martin President and CEO, Dr Andy Palmer said of the V8-engined DB11: “The DB11 is the most complete and sophisticated car Aston Martin has ever made. Now, with this new V8 engine option we have broadened its appeal by offering a car that will bring the DB11 to more customers around the world.”
According to Aston Martin, the model is currently on sale at £114.900. Deliveries are set to start before the end of 2017.
