1928 Bentley Le Mans Racer to be sold for $7m at Auction

We are well aware of the fact that Bentley is an expensive, high-end brand, with the Bentley Continental GT not giving you much change from £150,000. However, one Bentley marque that has seemingly stood the ultimate test of time is the Bentley Le Mans Racer, wit a 1928 version going on sale in the coming weeks. As one of the rarest models about, not many still occupy our roads, viewed as incredible antiques which any car-lover would be overwhelmed to see in the flesh, let alone own. Expected to reach a whopping $7 million at auction, what makes this particular model so desirable?

As a pre-war model, the Bentley boasts historic value, viewed as a time capsule in the world of transport. Expected to sell during the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance come March, this car is what we at Limo Broker like to call a true beauty.

Billed as “one of the most important Bentleys in existence” these is certainly such demand for such a car, hence its huge price-tag.

Carscoops.com explains why this particular car warrants such a financial request:

‘Well documented, immaculately preserved, and fully restored, the Bobtail is expected to fetch between $6.5 and 7.5 million when RM Sotheby’s auctions it off March 10-11 at the Ritz-Carlton on the tony Florida isle. If it lands right in the middle of its pre-sale estimate range, the big Bentley will match the Jaguar E-Type that topped the Scottsdale auctions earlier this month to open 2017 as the most expensive car sold at auction so far this year.’
